Villager Hunting kinda gets boring after you seen all the villagers. What now?

Do you stop villager hunting when you seen or have all villager photos/posters?

Okay so I just want to say something. Since I've been collecting so many villager photos and posters, I am now reaching the point where I am starting to get bored with villager hunting. I've been playing this game over a year and 7 months now that I've already seen all the villagers at this point. Of course there the Sanrio villagers, but we all know that they can only be invited through their amiibo cards and they cannot be found on random campsite visits or the nook mile islands.

What I am trying to say is that when you see all the villagers you're pretty much done with villager hunting. I gotten all of my dreamies on the main island (Destiny), and sure I have some on my 2nd island (Sprial) just to keep for good measure, but still I feel like I've seen all of them. What do you guys do when you finally reach a point where you seen all the villagers and you just feel stuck about if looking for villagers is even worth it at this point?

i think everyone has this one point where you are happy with your villager line up and then you dont need to villager hunt anymore. maybe if you get bored of them after some time you can let someone move out and then hunt again.
not sure if im understanding you correctly cause i always look all the villagers up first and make a list of the ones i want so maybe im just different from that

What I mean is that when you seen every villager and all their personalities it does get boring. I mean even though you had them on your island in the past, it would not make sense inviting them again because you know what they are going to say and talk to the same way as others. I know I'm beating a dead horse at this point, but I know how repetitive the dialogue is in this game.

I tried my best to keep all the villagers saying different things by inviting different personalities but no matter how they looked they will just talk the same way as the last villager I had on my island. I hope that made more sense.

thats just bound to happen after playing for that long. nothing really you can do about it. 🤷‍♀️

I said no since I really enjoy villager hunting; I have a lot of the amiibos but I prefer go visiting the mystery islands. If I can get back to playing, I will stop when I feel like it. I don’t think I am going to invite everyone, but I do want to try more villagers before settling on my final line up. I like so many villagers so in spite already knowing who I want for my permanent line up, I still want to cycle for a bit.

I know in the past I used to be very protective of my villagers because I had this mindest of "Well I got all my 10 dreamies so thats it" It was then I realized after about month playing that villagers I had started to become really stale. Once you gotten their photo there is not much to do with them. They would still feel happy to talk to you, give you gifts that you've seen already (clothing seems to be the most common), and they will run up to you and try to change the greeting or nickname even though you told them "No" several times.

So I made the decision to let most of my villagers move out and it did free up the energy I needed to look for different villagers. Of course it was hard for me to even know who I even wanted, but eventually I found ones I liked and I was happy again. I don't know for me its complicated, part of me wants to keep the villagers that I worked so hard on getting, but the other part is saying that I need to let them go and find someone else, even it means finding the same ones that I had in the past, but thats just how it goes I guess.

Maybe take a break from villager hunting and let chaos reign by letting just any villager to waltz on in to your island. I personally miss doing the mystery island villager hunt because I have all my dreamies from amiibo cards. Perhaps one day I'll let my dreamies go 🤷‍♀️

I voted maybe because I’m not too sure at this point. I feel like there’s so many villagers that I honestly will never be able to encounter every one of them before I stop playing the game, especially with the rate I’m going. I am still going to challenge myself to get every villagers photo though. I’ve only gotten 21 so far, so it’s definitely gonna be awhile, but I’m okay with that. I don’t like to rush through games, it’s not really relaxing for me that way. But if I ever got to the point where I’m bored and I don’t find villager hunting exciting anymore, I’d probably find something else to occupy my time or take a break away from the game for awhile.

Am I the only one who doesn't care to get their posters? I just like the villager, scan them in and then keep them for as long as I like and then will let them go for another villager I like.

So far I have not become tired of it. I know most villagers, but that’s not an issue for me. I don’t have favourites and really like about 50 or more of them. When I happen to have an empty plot I find it refreshing to just go island hopping and see who I meet - with no particular goal in mind. This way I have encountered most „popular“ villagers - minus the stress and expectations many people seem to have over it. I tend to pick villagers I don’t see a lot of online out of curiosity.

this laid back 0 expectations approach has not disappointed me once. If I run out of tickets and haven’t met someone I want to invite, I get one from the forum. Or make an amiibo myself but shh

I voted maybe, because I find villager hunting to be really tedious, but also really fun most of the time. I haven't gone villager hunting for a bit, because I have my 10 dreamies for my current theme. But I'm sure I will be on the hunt again when I start my new theme sometime this month.

Does it get boring after a certain amount of time? Yes. Is there anything we can do about it? No. Unless you just wanna stick with the same 10 villagers and never switch them out, or just use amiibo cards, or let your plots autofill, there isn't really a way to avoid doing it unfortunately. If it's gotten to the point where you are completely sick of it, just take a break from it. XD

I know since people keep telling me to keep a break that still won't make much of a difference. I've seen every villagers at this point and I've reached my peak. So its time for me to retire.

I've always disliked villager hunting on Nook islands. It was fun for the first villagers, but after that, it got tedious for me. I do have amiibos though, so that has also taken some of the random fun away from it.

Lately I've been letting my plots autofill and honestly it's kind of nice to be forced to try something different. I've kept Claudia on my island for quite a while and have Quillson moving in soon. I don't bother with the villager photo unless it's one of my absolute favorite.

i’m not exactly sure what i would do in this situation as i’ve yet to run into every villager and obtain every photo/poster, but i feel like i’d stop once i got to that point, or when i’m 100% happy with my villager lineup — whichever comes first.

i personally love island hopping, and i’ve set a goal for myself to meet and obtain the photos/posters of as many villagers as possible, but since i’m also open to having a permanent villager lineup one day, having 10 villagers that i don’t want to get rid of is most likely when i’ll stop island hopping. however, if i get bored of it before then (which i don’t see happening), i’ll probably just let my empty plots autofill and meet new villagers that way. :’)
