Villager I don't have and never have had in my coffee shop?

So I'm working at the Roost, and Marina walked in! She's a villager I've wanted forever but she's never lived in my town or anything and she isn't in my campsite. But Caroline is moving and she's a normal as well, could it be that I'll get Marina next? Or did she move in and I just completely missed her house plot? Or is it random?

I've gotten all sorts of random villagers that I don't have and my friends have never had. I have no idea how it decides what villagers show up. :/

It's just random. The more you work there, the more the word spreads about how "good" the coffee you're making is, so more and more NPC's visit you

From what I've read it's completely random but I may be wrong.

After you have worked at the Roost a few times, the game starts throwing animals that are not in your town or in your campsite to make getting the coffee orders harder. These are not animals that will be moving to your town soon or anything like that. It's just a way of keeping you on your toes. You will get one random animal almost every time you work at the Roost. I have worked there and gotten all the special items from Brewster and not a single one of the random animals ever moved into my town. So Caroline will be moving in but this doesn't mean that Marina is next, you may not see Marina ever again in the game unless you play for a very long time and go thru alot of villagers.
