Villager Move-in/Kick Out Window

So I set up a plot to do island runs and/or place an amiibo character. I suspected that a new villager wouldn't be buying a plot because someone else was already moving in. I time-skipped the next day, a villager moved in as planned, but another villager (who I didn't invite) purchased that plot. When can I kick them out? From the present day, do I have to time-skip two days for him to settle in and then kick with the amiibo?

I believe you do have to time skip until they're done unpacking and then you'll be able to kick them out.
