What does everybody think about villager pictures? Do you think it's worth the effort to collect them? Do you have a lot of them or just get them for a select few villagers? What's the method of getting them that's worked best for you?

I enjoy collecting them, specially the cute ones. I use iron hanging lamp wrapped to get them.

I've noticed that a lot of people really like collecting them, and make sure to get them from every villager before they leave their island, even the ones they don't necessarily care for.

I have the impulse to collect them, I'm not gonna lie, but like with the flowers i think focusing on it would drive me nuts, so I haven't bothered. I'll enjoy getting them from my permanent villagers though ☺

I collect them in the sense that I will get them from villagers I like but I dont get all of them just for the sake of it. I give them 1 wrapped giant clam a day.

I don't make a point to collect then, but I've happened to get a few and it's always a nice surprise when I do. I don't go out of my way to farm them though. Nothing wrong with farming them, it's just not my personal play style is all.

I enjoy collecting them and won't let a villager go without it. My upstairs bedroom wall is covered in them. :)

I give them cool expensive clothes (worth more than 750 bells I think is minimum), Iron Wall Lamps and Fossils.

Since I just started my island last week, I don't have much to say regarding how villager pics are obtained in New Horizons. I just believe it works the same as it did in WW and NL. I make sure to keep my villagers' photos in both of those games just so I can receive their photos before they leave and possibly never see them again.

I used to hustle for them hard core in NL and got every villager I loved. I attempted to in new horizons and just didn't like the item of gifting my villagers all kinds of random things and filling their houses. ( because if you give them things that match their personality it makes it quicker) It wasn't for me so I have traded for most of mine. I have almost every single villager in the games picture. :) They will always be one of my favorite items.

I like collecting them as a way to remember all the villagers I've ever had on my island also their birthdays are on the back and I wish I was better at remembering villager's birthdays and I like the quotes on the back too.
I have been using this guide for as long as I can remember: Friendship Guide I use for Photos(NOT MINE)

I enjoy collecting villager photos (and posters) because it's the only unique in-game memento you can have from them.

For me, the easiest gifts are giant clams. If you gift it daily, you can get is as early as 3 weeks.

Even though I don't collect them as must-have items, I've received many because I like giving my islanders gifts of fruit anyway. I've gotten duplicate pictures from those who have stayed with me for the longest time. It's always a happy surprise to get a photo when you least expect it. ☺

villager photos are my favourite thing to collect in-game (alongside gyroids), and receiving a new one always makes me so happy! so far, i’ve collected 62 photos (including npc ones), and my goal is to collect as many as i can! i’m not sure if i’m aiming to collect every photo, but i at least want the photos of every villager i invite to my island and every npc.

i‘m not sure of what all photo-obtaining methods are out there, but i just gift my villagers wrapped non-native fruit/giant clams and complete favours for them, and usually receive a photo within 3-4 weeks.

yes, I love collecting the villager photos so to me it’s definitely worth the effort. I’m trying to get a photo from every villager and so far I have a total of 26 photos. I’ve been just giving them wrapped non native fruit, doubt that’s the easiest because I see people mentioning giant clams as gifts. I’ve never tried that before so maybe I’ll give it a shot.

I can't imagine collecting them for EVERY villager but I've gotten one from each of mine and that's enough for me. Even though they don't really look good with the aesthetic I was going for, I put them all up in my bedroom because I love my villagers. I wrapped pumpkins and gave it to them each day. I think with the 2.0 update you can progress much faster with Katrina's friendship multiplier fortune.

My thoughts exactly! Another reason I do miss when villagers would send you goodbye letters was because if they were high friendship their photo would be in there. So it would say something like "Hopefully with this photo you can remember me forever." IT WAS SO SAD. But villager photos are so cutee! In all games. I kind of only put one of them at a time on my bedroom nightstand in game. If I want to put them on the wall I would just use the posters as they are way bigger and make more of a statement. They are still nice though!

Someone on TBT actually got EVERY SINGLE VILLAGER PHOTO. I was SHOOK. I think it was @VanitasFan26

I really only think it's worth it to collect those on villagers you really like. For example: your dreamies, random villagers you that like (such as Shino in my case), etc. I don't think I'd want to collect them all.

Also, yes, I think it wasVanitasFan26. I remember seeing the post where they revealed that, and I could barely believe it! o_O How the heck did they even manage?

i dont really have a method of getting photos (which is probably why it takes a million years to get any) so i just play the game, talk to my villagers, sometimes give them gifts if i see something i think might be a good gift. i dont bother to collect the photos of every villager ive had, but i would like to collect all the photos of my current villagers. they are permanent though so theres not a huge rush for me to get them. currently i have a few photos from my residents up on a wall in my house :3 i think i only have 4 though so a lot more to get in the future!

if you want friendship tips besides just talking to them and gifting them, you can also write letters and i think katrina can boost your friendship with a chosen villager once per day if you talk to her and pay a fee. not too sure on the once per day thing since ive only used it one time but i think its daily

I love receiving them, but I don't do anything special to try and get them! I talk to my villagers often, and like to gift my villagers items I think they'll like (rather than fruit/wall lamps, etc). 🥰

I have only my current ten villagers, who also happen to be my dream villagers. I don’t collect them or anything like that.

I think they are really cute! I'd like to collect all the pics of my villagers but I don't actively try to since I don't play regularly anymore. But for the ones I have collected I have displayed in my house
