Villager Plot Placeholder

I just had to reset 12 times to get Fauna's house in the spot I wanted. I had three bare areas all set for her. 11 times the house was on a path, knocking out 4 perfect orange trees or on a corner path taking out 10 bushes and 2 trees. I agree that they look for ways to destroy paths.

I actually used to think that villager houses would try to avoid things like patterns, flowers, and trees, and that they'd try to move into bare areas instead, based off my luck in the beginning of the game. But these days I don't think it's true anymore. xP I've done the reset trick hundreds of times, and they land on my paths and gardens quite a lot.

One thing I've noticed is that there's often a certain "hot spot" for me when doing the reset trick -- like a certain spot in town where a villager house will want to move into like 80% of the time when doing the reset trick. It's a real pain when this happens because it means that it's going to take forever to get the house where you want it to go. Afterwards I try to install a PWP (like a streetlight) on the "hot spot." And then a new hot spot is born the next time I need to do the reset trick T_T

I call upon Lloid to avoid having houses move in where I don't want them to, too. That has been a good method for me to convince villagers to move where I want them to go. Even still, it took 21 resets for Marshal to find his home. :|

Worked for the others though, so I'm happy about that.

I use strategically placed benches and lamp lights along my paths to prevent villagers from moving onto my paths since they can't move on top of public works.
