Villager said they would leave... not in boxes?

Eunice was thinking about leaving last night and I told her she could go. She confirmed she was moving and I 100% saved the game. Heres proof:

This morning I turned the game on and she isnt in boxes. I spoke to her and she didnt mention about moving at all. I thought maybe she would mention she decided to stay but nope. It's as if she never asked to move in the first place.

Eugine was in boxes last night and his plot is empty this morning because I forced him out through the campsite... does this have anything to do with it?

I love Eunice but wanted to island hop for a different normal villager. I'm bummed now :/ can anyone confirm villagers can stay even if you ask them to leave?

It seems odd Eunice would ask to leave in the first place in that case, I've always been under the impression only one villager would leave at a time - and that seems to be correct if Eugine left and Eunice has "decided" to stay. I'm just surprised she even asked to begin with.

Edit: It may also be that, Eugine before leaving was the last person to have moved in? The last villager to move in doesn't ask to leave. You can still force them out so perhaps in doing so Eunice became the last one to move in and won't ask now (so the last two villagers you added to your town were Eunice and then Eugine but because Eugine is gone now, Eunice is technically the "last" again and will be until someone fills Eugine's plot?) - just speculation, I obviously have no idea the order they came in!

I believe she asked me BEFORE I forced him out. I was under the impression it would be fine since they wouldnt be in boxes on the same day.

Sounds like the forced move out overrode her move out.

That's really strange. My girlfriend actually had the same issue with one of her move outs and she has never used the campsite to force anyone out.

Agnes wanted to move out of her town and she told her to go. Next day she wasnt in boxes but there was nobody else moving in or out at that time

Eunice was my "forced" Normal (one of the first 3 villagers I found on the Nook islands) and Eugine was my forced campsite villager! So unfortunately neither of them were the last ones to move in. My last move-in was Shari!

My brother has a similar issue. He let Chadder leave then invited Reneigh through the campsite who then chose Marina. The next day, Chadder wasn’t in boxes. Perhaps the campsite does cancel. I’ve seen someone mention having 2 villagers in boxes but it must be that someone was in boxes on the day there was a campsite.

I feel like when Colton offered to move out (he was my first to move out and I was like YES GO GTFO) he offered on Day 1, hung around Day 2, and was in boxes Day 3, gone on Day 4, but I might be misremembering because time has become squishy and my brain is mushy too.

Hopefully, I know how you feel. Haven’t island hopped in a while as well and kinda miss doing it. Last time I cycled someone out for someone to adopt, I got someone I wanted in the campsite so wasn’t able to get a free plot to island hop. Probably someone would ask I’m guessing in 2 weeks or so.

All the villagers that I've had move out naturally always went in boxes the day after they asked me. I think that's how it works in this game. Unless theres another glitch going around that idk about.

Marshall will be unpacking tomorrow so I'm hoping nothing will go wrong.
