Villager talked herself out of moving?

So Caroline just told me she wanted to be move on the 5th, I wanted her to move out because someone else wanted her so I told her to go. She then says 'Maybe I need to experience a bit more at this town?' and then decides to stay (I think?) She told me shes was going on the 5th but is she? She kind of talked herself out of it. Anyway of making her move? Being better friends with her? Please help x_x

Don't worry, that's happened to me before -.-
Sometimes villagers get offended when you tell them to move and they decide to stay so you can become better friends. If they 'ping' and come up to you asking to move, then decide to stay, just close new leaf and go back on. When you walk by them again and they 'ping', just ignore them. They will end up moving about 5 days later

im pretty sure they stay no matter what

if this happens, just reset and try again

If you ask them to stay, they'll definitely stay. If you choose the other option, they may or may not leave. Not sure what the parameters are though.
