Villager Trading?

WOW, I have not been on here in what feels like a REALLY long time!
Anyway, I?m happy to see that you are all still here and just as hyped about NH and much as I am!

Do you all think that villager trading will be a thing still? (Picking up a villager in boxes)
I?m kind of nervous because I really want Colton and will be on the Villager Trading Plaza For him when NH comes out! (hopefully!)

I am very excited to see how the tiers will shift! People really love Marshall so I’m sure he’d stay in the top 5! But you never know!

That would be much more expensive to do for NH, having to buy a 2nd console rather than just a 2nd cartridge. I?m curious what effect that will have on the supply/demand of villagers.

I don’t think time traveling is possible for this game? I’m still unsure about that! So the cycling threads would definitely lower

it’ll likely still be a thing - maybe not as frequently used due to there being easier ways to obtain villagers (amiibo cards and now the mystery island tours) but it’ll definitely still be a thing for those who want specific villagers

I would never trade for a villager again.
It was a horrid experience.

Reguardless, when you get a villager from another town they tend to keep mentioning the former player, and I don't like my villagers mentioning people I don't know, for the duration of the game.

I've been thinking about how cycling and villager trading will be different this game. I think the fact that an island only starts with two villagers will greatly discourage cyclers. It shouldn't be hard for people to find the villagers they want in the first place though, with island tours and amiibo cards.

That, and the one-town-per-switch thing. They usually had other copies for that.

That's another good point. I don't think the villager trading post will be nearly as active for this game as it was for New Leaf.

Yeah, agree. I wonder if LF threads will have to be disabled again.

I think it's probably still going to happen, but it will be more obsolete then how it was on NL, mostly because it seems that getting the villagers you want will be far more easy, we got the amiibo cards ok, but the biggest thing for me are the Mystery Island Tours, since you can invite the villagers who are there for your island, and by getting a bunch of tickets you can go on many tours and find the villager you want, so the options seem really wide.

there are also amiibo cards now, so if they have the same function in New Horizons as they do in New Leaf, then people can get their villagers that way. that's what I'll be doing for Robin if it's possible

It will stay around but we might not have as much of it as others have said. It's still unconfirmed if TT is a thing right? I haven't heard anything regarding that in a while. But since we are limited to one game per switch, drastically lower cycling towns if any at all. It will happen more organically I think.
