It has come to my conclusion and probably many others, that a lot of people have 10 set dreamies. This isn't bad, however, I'd just like to voice my opinion on something and open your minds a bit on the matter. So please bear with me and tune into what I'm trying to preach.
This, here, is a quote of something I posted on a thread the other day. A thread asking if users used the Villager Reset Trick, bought, traded, or let villagers move in via 'the luck of the draw.' Please read the following, I'm sure it will spark your interest:
"I don't get villagers from other towns via trading or giveaways or whatnot. I let all my villagers move in 'naturally/by the luck of the draw'. I REALLY enjoy this for several reasons. For one, it's always exciting when you get to see which random villager moved in. And two, it's a nice way to have a town full of variety. A lot of towns have Julian, Marshal and Stitches. Not saying they're bad, in fact, all three are adorable, but yeah, a lot of towns have them. So it's sorta fun to have a Muffy, Claus, and Jay. They're different then the 'usual' and can be refreshing. And if a villager moves in randomly and you don't like them, it's whatever. Personally, I find it a lot more fun to have a nemesis in your town for pitfalls, funny-angry letters, hammer-bashing and whathaveyou.
Allowing random villagers to move in also allows for new friendships to be made, and for you to have new favorite villagers. So many people have set, specific dreamies that they PLAN for. Thus not allowing themselves to be familiar with the other wonderful ones the game has to offer. Maybe you hate Paula, but you got Cherry to move in instead from a giveaway. You probably would have eventually warmed up to Paula and developed a soft-spot for her that not many people have, but you stopped the friendship from growing when you convinced Cherry to move-in.
Again, it's not a bad thing to have set dreamies, or get your villagers from trades and giveaways, it's your choice. All I'm saying is that if you haven't given the random villager way a try, you should. It's exciting, mysterious, and incredibly fun. c:"
So what I'm trying to say is that I believe you guys should give this method a try. I mean, for those of you senior AC players who played ACPG, ACWW, and or ACCF, I bet you made friends with the villagers in your town without any thought of the others. I bet you didn't plan and set dreamies then. (when you first started your town.) You just went with what you got and warmed up to your villagers. That's why so many people fancy Tangy, Bob, Stitches, or even Anchovy and Bluebear. Because they're nostalgic and bring back memories from your old town. But when you plan and set your villagers in a specific matter, your diminishing any chance of creating NEW memories in your wonderful ACNL town. Your stopping the development of friendships with other 'homely' or 'ugly' villagers just because you want the cute, hip, and new. So I encourage you guys to try this method. You may find that you actually like Jambette because she's so different and unique looking, and not many people have her because they all get rid of her like the plague. To me, that's pretty darn special.
Again, I'm not meaning to offend those of you who use other methods, nor am I cutting your method down. I'm simply encouraging you all to try it this way and see how the dice roll. You might find that you prefer it this way.
Thank you for listening. ♥
