Villagers taking down wreaths?

I’ve had Marina for quite a while and i’ve given her a few wreaths. I gave her a shell wreath one time and she didn’t put it up. I then made and gave her a second shell wreath (this time in the mail) and she finally put it up 2 days after I gave it to her. Yesterday, the wreath is gone and it’s still gone today. This it a normal occurrence for villagers to take down wreaths? What should I do?

I haven't started giving wall decorations to villagers but I did on some furniture. There were some occurences in which villagers will redecorate their room day by day, the easiest way for me to spot this was the clock i gave to genji, he kept moving the clock and rotating it. The same is for clothing, they keep the stuff you give to them but only wear it in random occasions.

Its most likely villagers keep changing the rooms to their will, which is a bit annoying, there's a chance your villager still has that item and stored it... but since I'm still in early gameplay I can't entirely confirm it.

I gave Lily a Lily Wreath one of the very first days, and she hasn’t moved it once! It’s been up since. That’s good to know she might one day take it down though.

They seem to do this with clothes you give them too, from what I've seen they only wear them for a day or two and then take them off/return to their default outfit.

Maybe it has something to do with whether they like the style? Maybe if they like it they wear it for longer?

I’ve given all my villagers wreaths and some have been given 2-3 wreaths (i find better wreaths for them) and they haven’t taken them down yet. Marina has been given a lily wreath, heart doorplate, and two shells wreaths and no she has none of those up. Maybe they’ll only take them down when they have several wreaths idk

it seems that they wear their given clothes for much longer than a day or two. I gave freya a coat like a week ago and she wears it random times of the day
