Hey guys. Im new here. Ive asked on a very popular ACNH discord about this but no one is able to help unfortunately so ive come here <3
So last week i successfully moved out Merengue and Reneigh from my islands. Merengue took me from 9am to 4:30 in the afternoon for her to finally ask to move out. I did have 2 villagers between that time to ask to leave i ignored them.
Im currently trying to kick out Dierdre. NONE of my villagers are asking to leave at all. I have tried Time Traveling 15 days and moving ahead 1 day at a time. Nothing. Ive tried doing an entire month and going forward a day at a time. Still nothing. No one has a thought bubble. My recent villager to move in is Diana and there are no birthdays that would cause this to happen. Ive spoken to everyone.
Please help ;w;

Well, the best thing I can tell you is that you might have bad RNG with the villager move out thought bubble. You see it only appears Sunday through Friday. Saturdays it does not appear for whatever reason. Also if there is an event that is going on that could disrupt the move out process. Also if you have any villagers with high friendships you might have made it harder for yourself because if you do see the thought bubble it may turn out to be that they want you to give you a gift or nickname.

The only way for the move out thought bubble to work is that you have to time travel 30 days into the future and make sure its not on a Saturday. I know sometimes the game is RNG where the thought bubble might appear or it doesn't appear at all. The best thing to do is that if you have a villager with very low friendship you have a better chance of letting that said villager move out and you have to make sure its on the right on you want to leave. Just beware do NOT time travel backwards because it can cause the move out system to restart, or if you somehow said "Yes" to them and you somehow forgot to save them it may explain why the next day it didn't work.

So overall, keep on trying. I know how annoying this is and I know it can be very time consuming to let that one villager leave so you can have an open plot for another villager you are still looking for to fill that plot, so just remember if you see the thought bubble land on the wrong villager save the game and quit and time travel the next day and check to see if the thought bubble will go on the next villager. Like I said before its pure RNG and you might run into bad luck.

The only time i move backwards is to essentially "restart" due to moving several days into the future and ive basically gotten to the end of this year with no bubble. Aside from merengue, this is the longest its taken. Majority of my villagers are walking around with picnic baskets/watering cans. They do yoga, or they run after me trying to give me items due to me being on the "Project K" mission.
So as far as all the details ive shared, it just sounds like i have bad RNG im assuming? I do check my camp to see if there is someone i should try to invite but im specifically after Sherb ;w;
Thank you for replying to my post <3

Yeah it might just be bad RNG. I know I tried several times to move out a certain villager from last year and by like the 20th attempt I managed to make them leave. Yeah the Campsite is a good way to kick out the villager who refuses to leave and make sure you talk to them once when they move in and ignore them so that way you have much higher chance of the thought bubble landing on them so you can have an empty plot. Just beware of the card mini game, unless if you have amiibo cards, but either way I'm glad I can help.

I always feel like the villager I want to leave never wants to and Raymond, one of my favorites asks alllllllll the time.

Well im returning disappointed :(
Ive been trying for...3 or 4 days now. I genuinely feel like my save is bugged, or one of the villagers i got from someones island has is bugged and causing no one to ask. The last villager to ask to leave was Reneigh and she was one of my starter villagers.
Ive emailed the Animal Crossing Support to see what they have to say. This might be the 2nd time i have to restart a save from an issue like this. Im struggling to think this is a RNG problem

If it were me, I'd leave the time traveling alone and be patient and wait the 15 days it takes for someone to naturally let someone leave your island. If no one asks to leave in that time, then you can go ahead and assume your game is bugged.

This is what I would do as well. I know it is hard to be patient and wait for someone to leave. It might help you to just wait the 15 days and not time travel. It seems like it has been forever since my last villager asked to leave.

I dont disagree. Its just frustrating because Dierdre is the last villager i need to move out. I wanted to get sherb as my last dreamie :/

Totally frustrating, you're not wrong-- the wait is brutal sometimes. But I think letting things run naturally for a while to fix things would be so much better than having to reset and losing all the dreamies you already have : )

Ive honestly never not time traveled xD im so impatient and i work so it just makes it easier to do so. Ive never seen anyone else state they've had an issue like this though so i guess its possible i do just have bad luck. If so, this sucks :(

Yea I work as well so I do a good amount of time traveling as well. I completely understand being impatient. I was the same way when I was trying to get Fauna to move out.

Can i ask what the longest you had to time travel for someone to move out was? Part of me is worried i do the time traveling wrong. When they agree to move in, i go back to the current date so i know they move in on the date i normally play on. Should i just move forward for them to move in then go back?

The longest as the last time I tried. I time traveled 15 days. Then it took me traveling a little over a month going day by day. I always travel forward when someone leaves. Then when I have a new villager I will travel back to the current day.

Maybe i am just unlucky then ;w; i hope thats the issue. I dont want to restart again especially before this huge update D:

here's a good guide to getting villagers to move that has worked pretty well for me!! i don't wanna repost without permission so i'll just explain, credit to para049!!

step 1: talk to any 2-3 villagers, save and close the game
step 2: go into system settings, tt forward 1 month + 1 day (ex. april 1 --> may 2), enter the game and immediately save&exit
step 3: go into system settings, tt back 1 month (ex. may 2 --> april 2). enter the game and check for a villager thinking of moving out -- they will usually be in/near resident services or in front of their house, always outside
step 3a: if no villager wants to move out, tt forward 1 day. keep tting forward 1 day until you find someone who wants to move out!

i hope this helps, and keep in mind whoever moved in most recently will not ask to move out by normal means -- they'll only move out via the campsite iirc or until they're no longer the newest villager!!

This is one of the techniques i use thats also not working. Ive tried a month. Ive tried 15 days and going day by day. Ive tried doing one day of talking to villagers. Then move a day. If no bubble move to the next day. If no bubble move 15 and then go day by day.
Ive tried every time travel method ive been able to google or see on an ACNH discord and nothing has worked. This is my 4th day of trying

Im wondering if Chevre isnt a bugged villager from the person i got her from. I invited diana off a mystery island as well as Bam who are my 2 recent villagers. It seemingly happened around the time she got invited.

If you have just one villager you want to move out, and you want to replace them with Sherb, and you're willing to use amiibo, Sherb will have an amiibo very soon. Just you'd have to get your hands on one.
