Wait...was the tools section always part of the catalog?

I've been playing since launch and I'm just now noticing that you can order tools and seasonal items straight from your catalog...
How long has this option been there?!
And what else don't I know??

I'm pretty sure tools have always been orderable in the catalogue, seasonal items though I don't know.

Mind=blown. I remember trying to get different color balloons for a carnival section I was making, when I could have just ordered them this whole time...

I'm pretty sure that, before the update, seasonal items didn't appear in the catalog, period, whether you ever had them in your possession or not. I only today noticed unorderable items in the catalog with the tag "seasonal" next to them. So I'm pretty sure that's new, and there are probably other changes to the catalog, too.

That is definitely 100% new!

I know this because I remember having to go to Nook’s to buy and hoard all the rubber ducky fishing rods because that was the only rod I liked using.

I remember also hoarding all the pinwheels because I like scattering them around my island and mentally thinking “YA-HA-HA! You found me!”

Not gonna lie, I’m thrilled we can do that now <3

I think it's like that in every game as well, so it's not even a new feature.

edit: upon further research I think the original Animal Crossing is the only other game in which you can order tools from the catalog. makes sense that I was aware of this bc that's the one I've spent the most time playing out of all the AC games.

Im sure seasonal items were always in your catalogue year round, they just have the ‘NOT FOR SALE’ next to them instead of a price.

I didn't even think tools were part of your catalog-
