Wanna start grinding for glowing moss DIY. Any heads up?

I wanna keep resetting everyday so that I can only find glowing moss island and get the glow in the dark sticker DIY. Yesterday iirc I can reset until I got the moss island. But today no matter how much I reset, I can't get the island to reappear.

Is there any hidden mechanic that I should be aware of? Thanks

I am sorry to say that there is no "secret" way of getting the DIY you want easily. Since all the DIYS are RNG based you will have to rely on the game mechanics to find them. I will explains ways you can get DIYS easily and if you have the DLC:

1. Talk to your villagers who are crafting

2. Look around your beaches to see if there is any DIY Bottles

3. Go on a Kapp'n Tour and you can find DIY Bottles on certain islands that have "Vines" and "Glowing Moss" that will help you get what you want that you mentioned in your post. Again RNG because you may end going to an island that may not have it because it could be seasonal based.

4. Sometimes Nook Mile Islands can have DIY bottles on the beaches but its RNG sometimes it may appear and other times it won't so if you have any spare Nook Mile Tickets that you haven't used then it could be useful to find DIYS instead of only relying on Villager Hunting.

5. If you own Happy Home Paradise look around the beaches and you'll find another DIY Bottle

I hope this helps you better understand how to get DIYS in the game and again its RNG because sometimes you may end up getting DIYS that you already learned. Trust me I know how annoying that can be.

Well there is a trick that I recently learned that if you get the island you don't want. You have to close your game before Kapp'n says "Aye we arrived" and quit the game. Then reopen the game and go back to Kapp'n he should take you to a different island since the game didn't save. It can be time consuming but if you really want to get different islands then this trick should help you.

Then that very same day, I tried it with two different account and they found many rare island and I was able to get the vine island using the other two account...

Hmm you must have really bad RNG which is a thing this game really is known for being so luck based. Yes you can rely on different accounts/users to help you get the island you want. For me I have 8 users so I have more chances of getting the island that I want easier. Of course like I said it is RNG so maybe thats the issue.

Well I don't think that is RNG because all i got when resetting is just one type of island.

The guide says we have 78% to get to normal island and 22% to get to rare island.

The glowing moss is in the normal island, it has 4 island. So it's basically 20% chance to get to moss island.

That, added with 22% chance from rare island, makes it 42% chance for me to get an island other than where I'm stumble into.

I've kept resetting for 3 hours and all I got is just a bland normal island. I did maybe 30+ times, so I don't think it's RNG because the chance are too low for me to get this unlucky. (For 1 out of 3 visits I should get to the other island)

I read that Katrina fortune and the streak of normal island visit will affects your island visit, that's why I thought there's a hidden mechanic haha

Yeah ok this is weird because I tried using my other account and just one try and boom! It ferry me to the vine island. What is wrong with my main account

I found it!

So apparently with every 7 tour you did, there's a mechanic where it always gets you the least visited island. So thats why I always get these one island everytime, because the bad luck mechanic is in effect.

The happy home island bottle Is the best way to farm glowing vine recipes, since it usually has them. It’s where I got all mine.
