hey y'all, has anyone had any weird happenings with their weather seed? >tool here<

weird like no matter what data they enter - it doesn't generate an accurate weather seed? i've been inputting for weeks of my islands weather - including light showers, a heavy shower (i documented both the minutes and the seconds), celeste visits and weather patterns across the day. i have gone through these days and verified the weather time and again (using only DEFINITELY CLEAR WEATHER or DEFINITELY SHOOTING STARS TIME, etc.). i have even gone through and said 'unsure' on some weather patterns i thought were very clear - to try and generate a seed that is accurate

the more data i enter (like if i try to put in all the minutes i saw shooting stars on the heavy shower), the more it says that it either doesn't have a weather seed that matches my island OR it gives me a new weather seed every time i add more data (must've been given about 6 now) but it NEVER matches my shooting star times for fine showers or my finite weather like cloudy vs not.

has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to correct it? i've been working on this for so long and i'm at such a loss 😭

I've heard through the grapevine that the updates might be changing the weather patterns, making the weather tool inaccurate... I really hope it isn't true.☹

Some your data is probably wrong. The cloud patterns are really hard for me to tell apart. The only thing you should track if when Celeste appears, the time stars falls, when you have an announcement for a heavy showers, and when you get a rainbow or double rainbow. There is no ambiguity about those events. That's how I got my weather seed and it's been accurate to the exact minute star falls.

I am having the exact same issue! I take photos almost all the time of my shooting stars, and despite me using this data and very obviously rainfall days, I’m getting no matching seeds. I’ve given up for now... :(

Also I wouldn't add the seconds for the weather seed. Just leave it to the minute. It's based on the game clock and if you are slightly off you are not getting your weather seed.

i did see that ninji had to adjust for changes in 1.3 updates to fine meteor showers (now they appear in sunny weather too), but they already ran an update for that. is there more that's unaccounted for, you think?

mhm, i agree its hard to tell sometimes and i havent been placing emphasis on my weather patterns as much as i have on my stars. but i am saying when i input barely any weather data and just the minutes of stars - ones i KNOW are accurate - it says it doesnt have a seed for me :/

i could eliminate absolutely all weather data aside from stars falling? that's frustrating tho, because these are repeatedly confirmed patterns lol. like ABSOLUTELY no clouds, totally blue stuff. why....bother having the weather patterns if the only way to tell is stars, is my question lol

HMMMmMM super strange ! i just wanna understand lol 😭😂
wonder if we that are experiencing this should reach out to ninji ?

It requires input of weather at the start of the hour, so the most reliable ones for me are rainy weather because if there is rain any time within the hour, the weather for that hour is rain. It is very hard for me to tell between sunny and cloudy. I also happened to have Celeste visited one day and made notes at when the first shooting star appears by almost doing nothing that night except waiting for shooting stars. That gave me some accurate input and helped me narrow down to two seeds, and I found mine from the two the next day with more weather input. And it totally worths the effort because now I know when the shooting stars will appear.

Maybe remove some of the inputs? I had input some data I thought was good but didn’t work, so I only put down what I was absolute sure and found it.

I had the same struggle at first!! the key is using weather you've recorded right near the beginning of the hour + I only documented clear weather or rain (unsure). I did this before the update tho so obviously this probably won't help if it's an actual game problem. hope you figure it out!

Mine is fine even after the updates. The best tip I can offer is entering "Unknown" rain/no rain, and days you are certain Celeste was present. I never used the clear/sunny/cloudy designations, as I found those gave me the biggest issue when trying to locate my seed.

I found mine by deleting all of my "weather" data and only adding shooting star times to the hour and minute. Took 10-15 entries of star times and gaps before it narrowed down to 1 seed, and it's been accurate ever since. It's definitely easiest to do during a heavy meteor shower, since light showers can be so sporadic you may miss some stars.
