Resident Night Mare
Sorry to have not posted in a few days, but I was home. I spend all week on the computer, so I prefer to be off it then.
So, what happened in Salem? Well, a good bit, actually.
I was out collecting fossils and looking for the ore and bell rocks. While I was doing that, I ran into Mathilda. She asked if she could come see what I've done to the house. We set the time and both went on our way. I popped into The Roost for my morning coffee and chatted with Pete for a bit. He was getting his morning joe before starting his rounds.
I got my buzz, thanked Brewster, and went back to my day. Blathers didn't need any of the fossils I'd collected that morning, so when 9:00 came around, I went to the new Supermarket that the Nooklings had opened. They have more items, which is nice. I'll have to throw more business their way, especially since Leif said that he is looking to partner with the little entrepreneurs.
Mathilda came over at the agreed-upon time and said she really liked my house. She kept making little asides about how Rocket would like to copy things and how I shouldn't let Rocket see my house. I guess they had a little tiff. Or Mathilda is getting jealous, seeing as how Rocket and I live next door to one another.
I puttered around the town and Main Street for the afternoon. I was waiting for Club LOL to open. When it did, I met Beardo for the concert. K.K. Slider was very polite, introducing himself, and then gave me a copy of the song when he was done - 'K.K. Milonga'. I then requested 'Two Days Ago', an old favorite before leaving. Sabrina, Tabitha, and Theodora all stopped by to listen and got 'K.K. Flamenco', 'K.K. Disco', and 'K.K. Moody'. They gave all the albums to me. I took 'Moody' over to Re-Tail and gave it to Cyrus, along with a giant clam shell I'd found the other day. He made me the most beautiful music box! I put it on the table in my bedroom. With the whole Mermaid Theme, it goes perfectly. I also stopped by the Nooklings' and ordered another copy of the song so I could put it in my stereo library. Tommy (or maybe it was Timmy. I get them mixed up!) said it would be in the mail the next day.
I went over to the island and did some fishing. I've got a huge loan on the house and still need to pay off the rest of the wind turbine. Once I'd filled my basket, I sold them off, paid down some of the loans, and went to bed.
Sunday morning came up bright and clear. And hot. My mailbox was stuffed with letters from the villagers (oh, I forgot to mention that I'd written all of them Saturday, didn't I?). Mathilda also sent a thank-you for letting her visit, and my music was delivered, as well.
I dug up the fossils and a few gyroids (must have rained overnight), some ore, and then hit the bell rock. It actually gave out a bunch of ore today! On my way to the Museum, I stopped at The Roost. Tortimer was there, so we chatted about mayoral stuff while I finished waking up.
I bought a few turnips from Joan because the price was very low. It might pay for a small PWP, perhaps.
After checking the shops (I got a new dress and hair pin), I spent the day at the island. I didn't actually do anything, but I did lay out in the sun. Once it got dark, I caught some bugs and sharks and came back to sell them to Reese. I had enough to pay off the wind turbine, put something down on my loan, and even throw a few bells into my savings account.
I went home after that, changed into my pajamas, and went to sleep.

This morning, I did my usual fossil/ore/bell round up. I went into The Roost, which was empty. That's okay, because it gave me a chance to talk to Brewster. He said I have an idea of what he's trying to do and offered me a job. I start tomorrow. It may not be much, but every bell helps.
The wind turbine is up and running. I need to go to Town Hall for the ceremony later today. Roald asked if I'd consider building a stadium light. I told him I'd think about it, because I don't want to hurt his feelings, but I doubt it'll go up in Salem while I'm mayor.
I got a nice tan yesterday. I might go back to the island today for more sun. If I have to pay for the ferry, I might as well get my money's worth out of it.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend and a good week to come!
