da prologue
Limp arms slid out of a blanket, pulling it back it ease and despair. Neither of the arms wanted to pull the blanket away, neither did the body they inhabited. Luminescent white beamed through the glass, signaling the body to awake. Whispers turned to yells as the door was slammed on by fists.
Get up.
A pair of eyelids towed themselves up hastily, the rested at the top and the eyes blinked. The person realized it was morning, and tried to ignore the banging coming from the hallway. Blistered feet touched carpet, clenching onto the small beige fibers for gripped.
She yawned.
It seemed as if she had gotten no sleep, she knew she had, but she was deadly tired. Her foot reached up, but then stomped down quickly. Every step she would take, made her feel worse. Her palms trailed out and dragged the wooden handle out, revealing a pile of clothes. She took a brown cardigan and beige dress.
She changed.
Once she had finished, she pulled open a door, revealing a vast empty hallway. Near the end you could hear the bustle of pans and the sizzling of bacon.
“She’s up!” A voice called, it was a voice of home.
Smiles meet her face as she approached the kitchen. She sat at on a tall leather stool and waited for someone to speak again. But no one did.

The same eyes met a mirror, behind the mirror the walls were plastered with white. They were lonely.
She grabbed a small comb and started to use it on her waffle colored hair. The pulls were jagged and somewhat forced. It needed to be perfect, but it could never be.
The back stuck up and the bangs were too wavy. She gave up, and fell onto her bed, staring at the contents of a small mint black backpack. A energy bar, and a flashlight. It was only one day, but it wouldn’t feel like one day.
The head shook back in forth in denial and pulled the backpack up, and onto her back.
She jammed her toes into a pair of Mary Janes and started walking, it was a long walk ahead of her.

A swarm of other people filled the station, all ready to go places of their own. She pulled the ticket out of the pocket in her dress, and sat against the walls. They were more vivid and colorful than at home…
“Now boarding, Michigan!” No one said a thing.
“Now boarding, Michigan! Right now!!” It called again, still nothing.
“LAST CALL FOR MICHIGAN!” The girl stood abruptly and started to sprint, how had she missed the other calls for Michigan? The train started to move, she called for them to wait but no one heard her. The train was gone.
She sat on the curb, placing the ticket under her shoes, she had no money for a ticket, no money to go back, no energy to walk back.” Liquid formed in her eyes as she tucked her head into her knees.

She sat there for a long time, until she heard another call.
“Free trip to SYDVILLE!” It called, she jumped up at the words he had just said. A man waved his ticket in the air. She started to run again. She saw others running towards him as well. But to her surprise, she got there first.
“Um...c-c-can I have the ticket please?” She muttered. The teen boy nodded and placed it into her hands. “God bless you.” She said and ran off quickly.

And then.

She boarded the train.

Chapter 1
I sighed a breath of air as I stepped onto the train, I wasn’t going to Gram’s anymore. And I probably wouldn’t see my family for a long time. I started to walk down the corridors of the huge train, how did it fit so many? I didn’t bother to answer, and sat down on an empty seat. I unzipped the top pocket of my backpack and peered inside.
Nothing was in there.
My eyes widened and frantically scattered my hands throughout the pocket, unzipping basically the all the pockets. Then I saw the bottom of my backpack had a huge hole. I pressed my nose to the window and saw people fighting over what used to be the contents of my backpack.
I slid back in my seat, I had nothing now. No money, no food, nothing.
The train started to move, a crowd of other people in the station waved goodbye to their friends and family as the train went through the tunnel to exit the station.
A lady with a cart of food items started pacing through each corridor, selling peanuts and water.
“Would you like some snacks? They’re only ten cents per packet!” She said grinning and staring at me.
I shook my head no and she went to the next person. Assuming the town was far away, I relaxed my eyes.

“Hey! Excuse me!” I opened my eyes and looked up. And I saw a life-sized cat, coming down the corridor.
“Mind if I sit with you ma’am?” It asked. I didn’t really know what to do, a blue cat wearing a argyle sweater was asking to sit with me. I could barely understand him either, but whatever.
“Uh…” I bit my lip, “I guess so?” The cat smiled, then sat on the seat across from me.
All the eyes of everyone on this train focused onto me and the cat, some looked at me like I was a psycho.
“So…Where are you heading?” The cat asked.
“…S-Sydville…” I muttered, and the cat stared at me.
“Pfft. Nothing but a few trees and houses in Sydville. Are you crazy? If you’re going to travel somewhere you should at least go somewhere like Lyamond(lol hi firekai).”
We both stared at eachother until I spoke, “Hey…don’t say that! It’s probably a nice place!” I remarked.
“Whatever.” The cat got up and went to another seat, asking them the same questions, like it was some sort of way to introduce you to your new life.
The conductor boomed into his mic, “Now arriving at Sydville!” and the train stopped in a small empty station.

I stood from my seat quickly, grabbing my worthless backpack, and dashing to the exit of the train. It was night time now, and was almost silent outside. I stared as I walked off the train, I didn’t notice the monkey behind me and walked outside the station.
I was met outside with a bunch of animals, wearing party hats.

Chapter 2
The yellow dog was the first to yell welcome, but right after the rest yelled it too.
“Welcome Mayor!” They all cheered, mayor? I stared at them all, raising an eyebrow. First talking animals and now mayor?
“Uh…This is Sydville…right?” They all nodded in unison and the yellow dog started to speak.
“Of course, mayor!” I shook my head.
“I’m not your mayor…this isn’t right.” I kept shaking my head and the dog handed me a form.
“See, look! You signed and everything.” I read the signature carefully, it was my signature.
“No! I never signed this!” I could never be a mayor; I’m not cut for that type of responsibility.
The dog continued to smile profusely, “So…the opening ceremony will take place over there” She pointed her furry fingers to the left where an empty planter stood in a stone plaza, “in one hour! We’ll see you then, make sure to introduce yourself and such.” And then she ran back to a huge stone building.
I sighed, what the heck just happened? Why was I here? Who copied my signature? I started walking, my mary-janes pressing an imprint into the snow. It was freezing, and my jacket was in my backpack. There were a few houses all around Sydville, each scattered in their own little areas. Where was I going to live? I ignored my train of thoughts and started walking; there was a beach and a huge bridge leading off to other towns. I decided to stay away from the beach for a little while, when seeing the jellyfish in the water.
I should probably talk to some of the ‘citizens’ here. I saw a few of them, not sure who to speak to first. I saw a light beige dog with purple tips on her eyes, and decided that I should probably talk to her. I trudged my way over to the pond she was standing next to. Why was I going to talk to a dog, I’m a weirdo.
Because of my dumbness, I was paying much attention to where I was walking and slipped.
My heel dug into the muddy snow and the front half of my body tilted into the water, yanking the other half out with it.
My body went under the freezing water; it was probably on the edge of freezing solid. I noticed the dog wasn’t doing anything to help. Anger flushed through my body as I grabbed the ledge on the walls of the pond.
I pulled my head from the water, clenching the ledge, and pulled myself out. The dog stared as I sat down on the snow, soaking wet.
“Thanks a lot.” I muttered with chattering teeth. The dog started to whimper,
“I’m super sorry mayor!! Are you okay?” I stood up while she spoke.
“Yeah, I guess. But I’m gonna need some new clothes…” The dog nodded and ran inside to her house, which was conveniently right next to the pond.
She ran out seconds later with a hair-dryer and a chicken suit.

cool asf! hope you continue! gonna write a few chaps of mine after i finish my mayor pixel o:

I really like it! :D It's a different explanation for how you get on the train to your town... It's really unique!

I think this very well written and I love, as Firekai says, the different explanation as to why you go to your town and not a big city or something. Maybe this explains why the player seems so hostile to Rover on the train?
