What are your thoughts on cooking?

I love the feature but worry I am going to run out of uses for it quickly. I really hoped I could craft food for presents to villagers but I’m sure I read that they display it like furniture which I found really disappointing.
If you have the DLC you can fix those issues should they happen
But it might end up really cute

Can someone confirm if when gifted to a villager they use it for decoration or not?
ive been wanting to gift sprinkle a cherry smoothie but I’ve been hesitant bc I don’t wanna mess up her room lol
That being said, I like it I just have the same problem with it that I have with crafting: not being able to use items from the storage.
I really don’t get it like the refrigerator items would’ve been perfect, you throw food items in it and then you can use these for cooking. Oh well. But they do look very cute and tasty!!

I'm a big fan, although I haven't done it much yet. I just think the items are so cute!

While I think regular crafting should be different.
(I do not support bulk crafting or storage crafting at all)

I do think if you cook in a room with a fridge, in your house, you should be able to cook from storage.

Its so much more realistic that way.

It could have some cute fridge and cupboard animations too

It would be awesome

I love it~ I mean, I don't really use the food to give me energy (I almost never need to dig up a tree/break a rock these days), but I LOVE the look of the food and sometimes I "eat" it for fun, lol. Like I'll grab a milkshake when visiting my HHP Cafe just for the heck of it. I also sometimes like gifting it to my villagers (yes, I know they display it, but I don't really care since I can always renovate their houses later)

I also love the wide variety of recipes! There are so many cute dishes I never would've expected, and they all look so nice and colorful... and honestly rather tasty, lol.

I like it, but see no real point. You just make the dishes and then what? Eat them? Get the same energy boost you'd get if you ate fruit from your island? I gave a fish dish I made to a villager, but they just basically said "thank you" and that was that. No point in making anything if even your villager isn't going to care imo. I don't need food dishes taking up the already limited space in my house I have.

I LOVE the cooking!! It gives me an excuse to throw food items everywhere. I was pretty active trying to recipe hunt and got most of what I wanted, but ended up trading for several recipes. I'm still needing a few more, but I'll be trying to farm for those. They just look so, so cute and really make a space feel homey. 🥺🧡💛

I see the point to be how you want to decorate the the island.
Its just fun and cute.

In the past we had food items we could just put out. Now we have those we make ourselves.
And it's so much more meaningful.

And if you just want to feed yourself to decorate, it's great too.

I think its a great way to decorate, while making things easier on players who want to move things

I like that it gives me things to do with items like fish or turnips besides sell them. I just wish I had more space to display food.

Ok, but my island's already decorated. I'm basically done with the game. If they'd have had this from the beginning, it would've been better imo for alot of us who were there then. Now I don't play anymore because it's still boring.

I like it, but I find it frustrating because I still haven't gotten tomatoes, potatoes, or wheat in my game yet. I know I could probably get starts if I traded online, and maybe I will if all 3 are still a no-show next week. It just limits your cooking options a bit when you don't have all of the crops.

You just need to build Leif's store on Harv's island first and within a few days you'll have all the seeds you need.

I dont mean this in a rude way at all.
But if there is content you could see yourself doing, but don't because you have a decorated island... just destroy it.

Youre not playing it so why keep it?

Have some fun with the new stuff.

Because I'm very happy with my island the way it is. No need to destroy something that brings me joy.

I guess I meant it from the side of
I'm basically done with the game.

Its great to be happy with what you've done.

But if keeping that happiness stops you from playing I'm not sure it's worth it.

I think it’s so cool to have like. “rare” recipes, like you mentioned OP! Makes it cooler to display too c: Especially because you can’t trade fish, so you know it’s authentically made by that person
