The egg obviously because the question clearly doesn't state the type of egg.

What do you think?

Throughout time, people have been wondering what came first.
The chicken?... or the egg?

Maybe it was LITTLE GUYS, THE FUN NEW TOY BY PAGONOMATION

I doubt anyone here gets the ref lmaoo

Neither. Dinosaurs which mutated over millions of years and devolved into birds, then into chickens, from egg, to chicken, to egg, to chicken, etc., just like humans have been devolving for thousands of years.

Jk. That?s what science said before. I really don?t know. :p

Egg, I mean sure there were animals that laid eggs before actual chickens specifically?

I say egg because the first chicken was born from an egg... I get that something had to lay it... but for simplicity I like to think the egg just kind of came into existence ;-; obviously, that could be argued for the chicken as well, but yeah I think the egg came first :3

Along with this, for the first chicken to exist (I.e. for it genetically to be a chicken) there would've been a non chicken prior to it that laid the egg for the chicken to hatch. Isn't that logical? The only loophole is if a baby chicken isn't a chicken in which case the chick came first ^-^

Egg.

The chickens ancestors would gradually evolve whilst continuing to lay eggs, with what we would call a chicken eventually coming out of one of those eggs.

The chicken can't really come first as far as I can imagine...Unless a mythical being just pointed their finger at the planet and BAM, fully formed chickens appear.

The egg. You eat eggs for breakfast, and you eat chicken for lunch and dinner.

Oh, is this a creation vs evolution thread? I guess the egg came first.

i say egg because it seems logical, the first chicken had to come from some kind of egg

Splatfest law decided that the chicken came first. Also octos are a inferior race but that's besides the point

neither, the Ostrich came first the ostrich is a highly evolved ancestor of the CHICKEN, we know this by because a chicken has two legs similarly to a ostrich has and its body also its flaps / wings are similar to that of a chicken, throughout time the ostrich had to adapt because of the environment it was in, now the ostrich was being hunted by its fierce predator the Otter, the otter hunted the ostrich one by one this led to Ostrich to adapt to its environment camouflaging through thousands of years to what it is known now as a chicken, though some ostriches still exist to how it looked thousand years ago these ostriches were typically from parts of safer areas were they did not need to change because of the environment they lived in

the Egg came first
