What did you write to your future self?

When I was younger, I didn’t really see the benefit in writing to my future self. Since then, I haven’t considered doing it. But now I might do it because there are some things I‘d like to remind my future self of.

There are some things I would like to say to my future self, but there isn’t enough room to write everything in Animal Crossing’s stationary. I think it’s an interesting concept, but I haven’t done it in the games. If I did, it was just a sentence or two saying something stupid.

I didn't know this was a feature to be honest, but I doubt I'd use it anyway. I don't even write to myself in real life, lol.

i have absolutely no idea when i wrote this, but this is the only letter i’ve written to myself thus far.

i don’t think there’s really much context behind it, but “you’re trying and doing your best” is something i really need to hear sometimes (and rarely actually do), so i decided to say it to myself or, well... future me lol.

the “write to your future self” feature is one i’ve rarely used in new horizons or any of the previous games since i just... never really know what to say to people in general, let alone to myself lmao. it’s a neat feature, but not one i get much use out of.

i have never written a letter to myself in animal crossing but have made several in photoshop in animal crossing format to post on tumblr...??? idk why, i just rarely use the letter feature in the game but i think animal crossing letters are cute (although new leaf letters were cuter than new horizons letters are, i will die on this hill and you cannot change my mind). maybe i should go send myself a letter

I write letters to myself sometimes, but I don't even write 'proper' letters; It's literally just my random thoughts put into a video game. Last night's topic was about, erm... How associating Dogman characters with the most popular Internet rule creates a sort of "moral dilemma". (Yes, you read that right.) It was basically, "Petey is a cat but anthropomorphic, Dogman is part dog, etc. etc." Please don't ask, and I'm definitely not adding screenshots either. XD

Back when the game had only been out for 2 weeks, I wrote a letter to future me about my critterpedia! I wrote about how many bugs/fish I'd caught and how I wish they'd add more critters because I already had 3/4ths of them, due to having easy access to both hemispheres.

Unfortunately, I sent it to a future me that happened before the deep sea diving feature came out, haha. I felt pretty dejected like, "duhh they've never added more critters to an animal crossing game before . . . " Then it actually happened, which was cool! But I'd forgotten about the letter, so didn't get to have a 'past me said so!' moment.

Sometimes, I will send my future self words of encouragement for random dates in the future. It is great to receive them if I am feeling blue and forgot that I had sent them.
