It’s looking like you won’t have anytime to play? My schedule at work this week is bonkers, I’ll be working close to 40 hours even though I’ve told them I can’t do more than 25.
I’m also a full time student, frequently before and after work I’m doing schoolwork.
I am feeling quite bummed at the prospect of having no play time this week.
When I dont have time to play, then that's just how it is sadly. Sometimes other commitments in life have to come first and that's okay. My life isnt based around this game, so I simply enjoy my hobbies whenever I have time for them.
I wouldnt let this get you down too much, I'm sure you'll have time to play soon again!
If my schedule or mood gets in the way of me playing, I usually start at the day that I first missed and play each day out until I'm caught up again. It happens more than I'd like to admit... TT_TT
Then I skip the day. The best thing about AC is that it will still be there when you get back. None of your villagers move out without your permission anymore, so if I need to take a break then I can do so without worrying about it. It is a game and my real life has to come first.
When I was younger I used to play for 15 minutes in the mornings before going to school, then for about 30 minutes right after I got home. Smaller sessions may help, like maybe animal crossing breaks between classwork if you have the time.
But also, I went through something similar at the start of the year, and had to drop off completely for a few weeks... sometimes it happens. One thing that helped me was thinking about what I would do next time I played. I didn't have time to play, but I at least had some time to brainstorm my island while I was going about my work/daily tasks irl, if that makes sense... ^^;
I skip it, then TT backwards and catch up. I know some people seem to passionately hate TTing, but I don't understand it. It allows me to play at my own pace and not miss anything!
I worked full times 40 hours and full time student 12 credit hours as semester.
I accepted I could not play everyday or for smaller increments and reminded myself anything I missed would come around again if I did not TT and that helped my stress.
Second I looked at my scedule. For me I found I was able to play 20 minutes as a reward for each of my study breaks. So I'd work on scho for an hour then set a timer and play for 20 minutes then repeate. It helped break up my study session and at the same time was something I could pick up and walk away from knowing it would always be there....and I find the music relaxing. I also would allow myself to play 10 to 15 minutes in the morning or evening before bed. But that only works if you are the type of person that can hold yourself accountable
I will put off school work to play sometimes for my mental health tbh. I need breaks from responsibilities. We all do. We deserve time to relax. The game is soothing and helps me to focus my mind away from awful things. I work full time but from home so I play on my breaks as well.
i’ve actually been dealing with this a lot lately. i recently adopted two kittens, so they’ve been taking up all my time and energy. it sucks not being able to play every day and falling behind, but what i do to remedy that is simple — i play when i can, in whatever time increments i can. i time travel day by day until i catch up to present time (which i’m close to doing!), and while that can lead to a bit of burnout, it works for me. :’)
