What do you guys even do with your friends in-game?

Visit each other's shops and houses, and uh... that's about it. Sometimes we'll try to fish for rare fish together.

This game is badly in need of some minigames. I was looking forward to playing multiplayer with randoms from the forum and such, but with nothing to do, I feel like it's just going to be awkward and boring. The island minigames in New Leaf were a great way to break the ice with people you don't know well, and just have something fun to do.

me and my close group of irl friends will shop at each others towns, go for villager diys, trade (and now water each others flowers knowing you get more hybrids that way) flowers/furniture/anything we don't want and just generally hang out. one of my friends TT-ed to get a villager to move out and has the upgraded nooks and bought the timer so now we'll probably create our own little minigames of bug/fish catching or hide and seek!

i don't really play with strangers, more so irl friends, so it's not uncomfy at all if i just let them hang out on my island (vice versa), shop, and catch fish/bugs for as long as they'd like! if there are events (ex. meteor shower) then we just chill and wish on stars together. i definitely wish we had minigames. hide and seek, fishing/bug catching contests with a timer, musical chairs, olympics etc. can also be set up!

Me and my friends just fish and see who can catch more and catch the rarer fish. I literally spend agessss getting clams to try and get loads of bait to try and catch all the big fish. I remember laughing so much when I got the oarfish though that thing is huge I’ve also seen the sunfish but I haven’t caught one yet

In all seriousness though the fishing tourney was great for multiplayer. Had a lot of fun teaming up for that. We've also played hide-and-seek a few times. Mostly it's a game to play in the background while we chat & chill.

I went on a museum date last night which was pretty fun and surprisingly romantic *´ｪ`*

Other than that, mostly just shop, talk with villagers and get/give tours of how things are coming along. I’m still holding on hope that they’ll eventually introduce some mini games, or at least give us a timer so we can make our own.

there is a timer once you upgrade Nook's Cranny (saw one in my friend's) but I don't know if you can use it online?

what i remember using it for in the old games is seeing how many fish or bugs you could catch in a certain amount of time but that was a solo thing

wait, you get more hybrids if you water another person's flowers? is that ctually a thing?

Yeah. New online play isn't as funny as it was in NL. At least before you could also go to the island together. Fish, dive, catch bugs. It was a good was to play together and make some money and play games with people. May more fun. I really hope Nintendo decides to add things in the game like that later on. Not to mention the islands in NL were a much better way of making money. But it would be really nice for them to make another island where you can bring people with you and play games. That's what I really want.

My friend and I still play online quite a bit. Right now its alright because we were showing each other all the changes we were making. But we cheat a bit with tt. So we have changed enough, that our changed aren't always that big day to day anymore. Although I did change my island quite a bit in the last couple of days. We still will just kinda fish together and what not. Just not a good as NL.
