I've only played ACNL. I mentioned on other threads that I'm interested in getting WIld World and City Folk; some of you felt those games weren't necessarily the great. So i'm curious about whether there's a consensus among Animal Crossing fans: which AC game is the best?
New Leaf has the best and cutest graphics, better music (IMO), fun holidays and the island, but I still love Wild World almost as much. It's probably because WW is the game that introduced me to Animal Crossing. While there isn't as much to do, I don't get overwhelmed like I can in NL. I can play 30-60 minutes a day and be done. These days, I'm actually enjoying my WW town more than my NL ones.
honestly acnl. i played cf for around 2.5 years before getting acnl and i would NEVER go back. there's so much more to do in new leaf, everything is prettier, the controls are easier, it isn't on the wii (imo animal crossing is Really supposed to be played on something portable), there are a lot more options when it comes to landscaping, the villagers say more interesting stuff, you can have a much bigger house, it's a lot easier to get money etc.
while city folk was a very enjoyable game, new leaf is so much better in my opinion. If you want to you could get it and check it out, but honestly i don't think you'll love it too much ;;
one thing that was better in city folk was that the furniture you got from balloons was actually nice looking lmao but aside from that there werent a lot of stuff. u could only have four emotions!!!!!!! and your villagers asked for super specific furniture and clothing!!! aND you had no legs..,, honestly..,, ,
New Leaf. I'll always have a special place in my heart for Population: Growing! but I feel it's severely hampered by its controls and how there isn't much to do. However, I much prefer its soundtrack and dialogue over later games. Still play it once in a blue moon and it's always a nice treat. City Folk I played a lot of but didn't really get into it like I did with PG. I do like the remixed WW soundtrack though, it's much clearer.
New Leaf is definitely the best. It has the longest play capability & the most to do in the game. Also it's fun to trade & play with other people (since you can't do that anymore with the older games). I have loved every single game since the GameCube version but have never played any of them as long as New Leaf.
Well, I've only played New leaf and Wild World, and I prefer New Leaf over Wild World. The graphics are so much more better, theres so much more to do in New Leaf. Don't get me wrong, I love Wild World. But New Leaf theres so many opportunities xD I remember when I first got it and my group of friends that play it too told me that theres a lot to do. They were so right! c:
City Folk was very fun, but wish it was on a handheld device like the 3DS or DS! But New Leaf by far seems really good too, I think most have their own theme and main points; it's hard to choice just one lol
WW~Even if i dont like it as CF, GC and NL this game introduced many important things in the game asHybrids, Wifi Connection, etc...Its probably that if this game didn't existed, AC would have stayed in the GC...
NL~ This game also introduced MANY things like Dream Codes, New flora, New Characters and Villagers Design and most important, Being the Mayor of the town and running by yourself the town. Got back stuff from older games like The Island, The City as the Main Street And most important: The fact that it had a big popularity and influence back in 2013-Mid 2014 and it has gotten in the Top 10 of games for 3DS...
Me, personally, I think the original is the best. Even though the graphics aren't the best, I just really love the way it looks. It just also seems very cozy to me. The villagers had more unique dialogue, and that game isn't so much about designing as it is living a second life. Now, don't get me wrong, I like all of the game, I just really like the first one the best. It also seemed to have a lot more mini-events, like the morning aerobics and the lighthouse thingy.
Even though I played Wild World for years, I have to say that New Leaf is the best. I really liked how much more control you have over your town in New Leaf - being able to place PWPs, having your own private island, and being mayor were all great additions to the game. Compared to New Leaf, I think Wild World's graphics aren't as good as I remembered them to be.
