What do you think is the true meaning of animal crossing?

This random thought came to me, "what is the true meaning of Animal Crossing?"
I thought about how you left your parents to be in this animal town (with the mom mail and stuff)
Then i thought "Is animal crossing supposed to tell you that if you leave somewhere far away from your loved ones, will you still make friends in this new town you live in?"

What are your thoughts?

I read in an interview once that the creator of the game was really homesick and made the game to be something that will make people feel at home. So I think the meaning you proposed is pretty accurate! Wherever we go we can make ourselves a new home.

Yep, your theory is just fine. Anywhere we go, can be home no matter how far away our loved ones are. This is probably the true meaning of Animal Crossing. Also, I remember reading somewhere that the creator wanted to create a game where the whole family can play and feel at home.
