Hey! Its been a little while since I've posted.

Anyway, with the PANTS SOILINGLY EXCITING reveal of Animal Crossing 2019, we don't really know much about the game, other than:

1. Its coming out in 2019
2. Its for Nintendo Switch

Thats it really. Since we have such little information, I say we share our own crackpot theories here! Mines is kind of one I hope isn't true, but I don't think Isabelle will be in this new game. It seems to me like Isabelle will be too busy with Smash to, y'know be in an Animal Crossing game. I hope thats not true though. What theories have you gathered from this trailer?

PS. Also this took me way longer to write because Sonic Mania Plus came in the post midway through.:lemon:

I think the teaser might imply vastly improved graphics. To me, that is a huge plus.

Also, make sure you change your pants.

1- The trailer could definitely imply vastly improved graphics, like Trundle said. Maybe more dynamic lighting, since the Tom Nook Scene had many points where it shows dark shadows. Maybe I'm a bit biased cause I want that for the game..

Also New Leaf graphics were literally just tree shadows not even reflected onto anything except patterns.

2- It may be early in development or Nintendo's going quiet, since it showed all reused assets. It's the same case with other games announced, so they're probably keeping quiet until a direct.. hopefully.... :(

When I saw the part with Tom Nook, I thought about that maybe elements from Happy Home Designer
will be in the new game, since Nook is sitting in the office he had in HHD. It could be that they maybe
bring the town from HHD back, which would be cool if this is the case, since there were buildings like
a restaurant, school, hospital, theater and so on. It could also be that the graphics will be kinda like
we saw in the trailer, which would be nice since it look very good.

Other then that, there is not much to say about other then it will coming out in 2019. Guess we have
to wait for now till we get more informations and also see the first gameplay.

I think the Nook part doesn't reflect the final game at all. For some reason I think the Isabelle part is more representative of the graphics we're getting. Which is actually a shame to me as it looks VERY similar to NL and Pocket Camp. However, they are crisper which is a plus. I thought the animation was a bit stilted though, which concerns me as the Nook part didn't look nearly as stilted.

However neither parts are in-game footage so it could've all been just something thrown together quickly from polished up existing assets to make the trailers, which is my hope.

As for Isabelle appearing in the game, I think she will because her appearing in Smash years after the release of her only game doesn't make an awful lot of sense if she isn't going to return. However, she to me is representative of New Leaf so I'm fine with her not returning.

I too really hope that those two scenes were just animations for the direct, but only time will tell!

I do think Isabelle will return, she really is heavily associated with the Animal Crossing series at this point and beloved by so many fans, it'd be a weird choice to not put her in the next game.

As for Tom Nook being in his office from HHD, I interpreted that as him moving on from the spinoff games (since there were moving boxes as if he had started packing up his things) to a new main Animal Crossing game.

I would say that it does seem from Isabelle getting into Smash and the art style of the trailers being the way they are, that we aren't getting an art style shift at all BUT... Villager in Smash is still representative of the old style. So clearly Nintendo is not adverse to showing off the older styles in Smash, so there is still hope for an overhaul. It's very bizarre.

I really think Isabelle is going to be the mayor, and I think that's why they dropped the little hint in her dialogue. I could see the player character being her assistant in that case, so that there's still a logical reason for you to have the power to customize the town and all that kind of stuff.

First, before I say any more, it says as a disclaimer at the bottom ?not actual gameplay footage? so it was probably made separately and exclusively for the end of this direct.

We all know they have better 3D models...being from the AC plaza they released back then.... but there?s usually problems with compatibility and the sort...lets hope this isn?t the case.

To what I was saying earlier, It also doesn?t have all the items...some were missing ...I was actually playing HHD and compared the area Tom was in. I?ll post pictures to show a comparison.

As you see, it looks like he's either packing up or unpacking....from what I don't know...I figured I'd show this.

It like where waldo...but here's what's obviously different

1) The Calander is missing
2) The Certificates are missing, Gold HHA Plaque, brown pot and a white pot aren't on top of the filing cabinet
3) Small, but no paper piles are present.
4) another filing cabinet is there along with some files
5) Coffee cup isn't there
6) Phone and some papers aren't on table instead a lamp and a switch are in its place.
7) Copier isn't there
8) Don't know what its called (and really, isn't much of a big deal but saw it anyway) but there no desk cover, the black thing you see on desks in the middle...

I wouldn't look too much into the two videos we've seen of Isabelle and Tom Nook during the direct.

PC's honestly gorgeous, don't get understand the thirst for another step up when this is such a cartoony style in the first place. I'd be incredibly happy playing a mainline game of those exact assets with a console's frame rate.

Anyway, I suspect this game has been in development for a long time (at least since 2016), and PC is using assets actually developed for this in the same way HHD introduced items we'd see the next year in WA. It doesn't make a lot of sense to develop new graphics solely for a phone spinoff.

Isabelle deserves to be mayor. :)

I think a lot of people just don't want to associate Switch with PC at all. xD It seems petty but lots of people don't like it, and equally plenty of people do. It's just one of those things. I personally like the fuzziness of the fur and other such stuff in NL, and PC looks too clean imo. But, that's not to say it's objectively bad. :)

I don't know when we will see it again, but they may skip it for the January direct. I'm expecting to see some trailer in the April one.

I doubt Isabelle will be absent. I just think she isn't as involved in the preparations for the game. ;)

The Smash trailer leads me to believe that we'll get to be mayor again though.

Edit: Whisbol could be right too; Isabelle could star as mayor. I just know she likes to daydream and enjoys supporting the mayor. But I could see the Smash trailer as a hint of her being mayor too!

Perhaps graphics and our role in AC Switch. Even if Isabelle's section turned out to be a set up for her smash reveal it honestly shouldn't really be ignored. The graphics look perfect enough for the game and the fact Isabelle still acts like a secretary and says the Villager is still Mayor may mean we are once again Mayors for this game.

I also do not believe Isabelle in Smash means she's gone from AC Switch, if that were the case then that would mean the human characters we play as wouldn't be playable, yet they still appear in Pocket Camp and HHD.

I like to think of these trailers as the transition from New Leaf to Switch. The town hall being exactly the same and such, I mean - Isabelle has now perhaps left that town hall to go set up in Smash. And Nook moving into his new office with the boxes and all... Maybe the HHD office will make an appearance in the new game.

I really don't believe any of this but it's fun to speculate. What else can an AC forum do with no information? XD
