What happens if you press the "I'm new!" button?

I just want this stupid question answered. Will it erase my data in the game?

You mean when Rover appears? The I'm new button is under your Character's name right?
So if you click it, a new Character can be created.

You can have a Maximum of 4 people too btw

If you want to create another character, Then click I'm New. It'll make another character.

Like everyone has said, clicking on that button will allow you to create a new character in your current town.
