What happens when you move locations? (HHP)

So I've made some bad choices as to the locations of some of the vacation homes and I really wanna move them. However, I really love the house interiors and I don't wanna have to start over. I understand that the yard will get lost, obviously, but can the home interior stay the same or will I have to start over with that as well? I don't wanna move houses if so and would like to know before trying it. Thanks!

Seems the house interior stays the same! Just moved Hopkins, and his room was exactly the same... everything in the yard was lost, though.
