Since I've seen a couple of people posting about cars lately, it got me thinking... What is your dream car, the ideal car you would love to own one day if money were no object?

For me, I have always loved Corvettes. There are lots of sports and muscle cars that I like, but the Corvette tops my list and has for a very long time. I'll never be able to own my true dream Corvette, the Blue Mako II, because it was just a concept car and no longer exists in its original form. Among the more standard Corvettes, my favorites are the C4 and C7. I love the C4 for nostalgia reasons; it was the first Corvette I ever fell in love with. As for the C7, that has been my favorite of the more recent designs. If I were to ever own a Corvette, I would want the color to be blue.

i hate how car centric the USA is and id really rather not have a car and would rather use public transportation but that isnt a thing here. so my dream car is no car. fix public transportation to rural areas so the under privileged have access to safe & affordable commutes to and from work, shopping, family etc.

but unfortunately im not blessed with public transport and there's so much societal pressure to buy one, so if i do have to choose a car i'd probably like a jeep grand cherokee or jeep compass, theyre nice on the inside and out.

my dream is to not have/need a car. i have public transport in my current city and its been really nice. agreed that infrastructure is way too focused around cars and not enough on walking, biking, and public transport. maybe one day though. driving gives me horrible anxiety so id rather not have to do it ever again. not sure what car i would choose if i had to pick one tbh

I'm not sure as to what my dream car currently is, but when I was a child I was very interested in muscle cars from the 1960s and 1970s such as Mustangs (don't care for all of the modern ones though) and Camaros (some Corvettes, Chargers and Chevelles as well). My parents actually had some of these classic muscle cars back in the 1980s and 1990s (they still have them, although they don't drive them anymore for various reasons). Nowadays, I still like these muscle cars, but they probably wouldn't be very ideal to have and drive around considering all the high gas prices.

What one of my parent's muscle cars looks like:

BMW i8

I'm not a person that knows to much about cars or get that deep into them but still, since i saw that car i knew one day i would found cool to own 1 of them. No doubt of it.

Like someone said above I'd actually not want to have a car I'd like to be able to walk or ride a bicycle to places or take a public transportation method, I'm too nervous to learn how to drive and I'd like a eco-friendly way as transportation as well.

honestly probably a honda civic if that tells you anything about me
I've owned a Honda Civic and it was honestly my favorite car that I've ever driven. I kept it for a long time. They're reliable, reasonably priced, and look pretty cool. I have considered buying another one the next time I'm in the market for a new car.

@mrbeanfan64 Ah, Mr. Bean's iconic Mini! That's a classic and I love the picture with Teddy in the seat! Would you carry the steering wheel around with you to make sure nobody stole your car? 😆

To all those saying that they would rather not have a car, that's perfectly valid too. It would be much better for the environment. I admit that I do like driving and I get anxious about public transportation, but if it was more convenient, less crowded and nasty, and just better in general then I could get on board with it. I live in a rural area so I've never experienced good public transportation.

Ooh, I like this thread! What an interesting dream car, @LadyDestani. I really like how they all look regardless of the generation. In fact, I saw a C5, C8, and a C4 yesterday and it always makes me smile to see them. By the way, did you know that the Chevrolet Corvette has been around since 1953? It's awesome how it managed to hold up for numerous decades as other names typically come and go.

To answer your question, my dream car is the Honda S2000, most preferably in Indy Yellow Pearl.

I don't think it would be my dream car at all if it weren't for the Gran Turismo series. I got into the series at a very young age thanks to my dad and this is one of those cars that stuck out to me ever since. The handling may differ a little bit in real life, but I like its sporty behaviour and going through corners without trouble. Plus, it sounds nice revving up to 9000k RPM, though the redline may differ depending on the model. Sure, it's only got a peak power of 247HP and not as impressive compared to other cars that can put out much more, but I don't need a ludicrous amount to have fun driving. I'm more of a person who wants to have an enjoyable experience than just simply arriving at a destination And if there was a race track nearby, I'd love to take it for a spin to test my abilities. Sadly, Honda stopped producing the S2000 in 2009 and I doubt they'll ever bring it back which is a shame.

... I even made a custom livery for the Honda S2000 in GT Sport a few months ago (and eventually ported it to Gran Turismo 7 with a few retouches) and it's great.
It's been modified both performance-wise and appearance-wise.

tl;dr version: The Honda S2000 is my dream car because of a car game series that I grew up playing.

That being said though, I understand why other people don't have one and despise the car-centric infrastructure. Even as a car enthusiast, I hate it as well, and it doesn't help when people in power think that adding more lanes and building more highways would solve traffic, all while neglecting to invest in public transportation. The road designs are absolute garbage and I feel bad for cyclists having to go on them. And don't even get me started on dealing with drivers who... Probably shouldn't have a driver's licence in the first place. I had to deal with them on a regular basis such as not using turn signals, people honking literally 0.4 seconds after the light turns green (it's not a ******* race), or weaving through traffic that I refer to them as "snakes".

To end it off on a lighter note, it's such an interesting read from other people around here!
