What is your favorite book or book series?

I have a few, the ones off the top of my head though are the Harry Potter series (obviously), the Hunger Games (I was in a book club in secondary school and read them when they first came out), and the Maze Runner trilogy.

Harry Potter FTW!

"To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee is my favorite book, but my favorite series is "The Dark Tower" series by Stephen King.

Of course you would say Harry Potter.

I love The Dark Tower series, I pretty much love all of Stephen King's books!

this makes me think we should open a book recommendation thread.
like post genre and short synopsis for people looking for things to read :x

That would be awesome!

I never could get into the Harry Potter series for some reason...

Hunger Games and Maze Runner were good though!

My current one is slightly NSFW i guess.
But i used to loveeee this french series called Arielle Queen when i was in junior high haha.
I recently read the first book after 8 years. And it was so cheesy that it made my eyes roll lol.
And the main character was kinda trash talking about this "dumb blonde classmate". @-@
I mean they didn't like each other but.. Lol. I guess younger me didn't notice.

i enjoyed the novel "Night" by Elie Wiesel, (an amazing recollection of a young Jewish boy's life through the holocaust, a very heart wrenching tale, however.) or "The Great Gatsby" by Scott F. Fitzgerald. (a timeless classic, which is a bit boring at the start, but a very lovely book overall.)

I really like the book called, 'Under the Hawthorn Tree' <3 took me a couple of days and cried during some parts of it. It's a kind of feely romantic tragedy love story~ I like anything similar to it, but I also don't mind scifi/horror/fictions xDb

i will always love the harry potter series

currently reading the welcome to night vale novel, though. you guys should check it out :p

Frankenstein is my favorite book of all time. I didn't think I'd like it when I first started it, but it is seriously a fantastic book.

Other books I liked were Wonder by R.J. Palacio, It's Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini, and Carrie by Stephen King.

favourite book is definitely either Anna Karenina or Infinite Jest or The Remains of the Day
i don't generally read series, i kind of like the definite feeling that standalone books have but my favourite series i guess would be harry potter for the sentimental value if nothing else!

Warriors by Erin Hunter is a great series, I've read a good majority of the books, with the exceptions of the 'mangas', some ebooks and a few super editions. I'm also yet to read the fifth series, but honestly I'm just waiting for them all to come out so that I can get a box set.
A good stand-alone book is 'Since You've Been Gone' by Morgan Matson. It's really good; it's semi-generic genre-wise, but with a few underlying tones of different genres. I really would recommend it.

My two favorite series are "Harry Potter" and "The Hunger Games".

My favorite book is "Good Omens". It's the only book that I ever finished and immediately started to read again.

- the fault in our stars
- the skin jacker trilogy
- the unwind trilogy

the other books ive read are just things ive been forcing myself to read for the sake of reading. i swear i finished at least like thirty books this semester yet i only recall actually enjoying a few of them

okay hear me out, daisy jones and the six is the best book i think i have ever read in my life
its just been turned into a series on prime and i cannot wait to watch the rest ( on episode 2 )
the whole novel was truly amazing and i felt a deep connection to all of the characters to the point where it actually upset me when i finished the book as i was so eager to find out what happened in their futures

My favourite book is The Virgin Suicides. Yeah, I know. BUT it is fantastically written and I enjoy going through it and highlighting the parts that jump out to me. Im very stingy with these kinds of things so there are points in the book with no highlighted quotes for pages and pages, but when I do pick something out it's important to me.

If you'd want to know something slightly less concerning that I love reading: Im Glad my Mom Died by Jenette Mccurdy. She was my childhood hero and I always wanted her life - just for me to grow up and realise our lives weren't that far apart. Her stunning ability to articulate feelings I couldn't even remotely describe gets me every. single. time.
