In terms of trick-or-treating candy, as long as my treats weren't opened or tampered with in any way, I didn't really care what I got! I have a lot of chocolates and candies that I like, so I always got treats I liked more than treats I didn't!
I was always especially happy whenever I got original skittles, rockets (smarties in the US) and hershey's cookies 'n' creme bars, though! The occasional bags of chips were also a nice break from all the sweetness, and I'd never complain about getting a rice krispie square or a bag of fruit snacks! The very rare times I got a full-sized candy were great as well!!
As a vegetarian, I’m happy with anything without gelatin I remember when I used to trick or treat, I could only end up eating about a third of what I was given
Even as a kid I was always picky about chocolates or weird, chocolate-like candies. For example, I avoided Tootsie Rolls and Whoppers. And I also never liked anything with nuts or coconut. I traded those away to my little cousins for stuff I do like, such as Reese's cups, Sour Patch and Dum Dum lollipops.
I love taffy, gummies, Skittles, Starburst, and the occasional Smarties I was crazy about Fun Dip and pixie stix. But my all-time faves were the Hubba Bubba sour goo lol
i look forward to the reese's shapes (pumpkins and bats) coming back every halloween. something about the ratio of peanut butter to chocolate is so yummy! it's so much better than the og reese's cups
