I don't want a dividing river that splits the town into three as I like large areas, so I'd like my island to be two large sections of land with the river dividing it in a curve.
I really hope that three way island split isn't the way every island map will be. It would make the place too cramped for me.
I don't know what falls under land features.
Trees?
I hope there are different tree types but I've seen no evidence of that which kinda sucks. After all these years you couldn't add another tree type?
Well at first I thought I wanted conjoining rivers that would separate the ground level of my town into three sections, similar to the map we saw in Nintendo’s Treehouse video. Now that I think about it though, I realize that rivers take up a lot of space. Space that could be used for decorating.
I think I need to know more about the game so I can learn which map would be the best. One of the biggest reasons I’ve reset my New Leaf town so many times is because I felt I chose the wrong map. With New Horizons I don’t plan on resetting ever. As we get more information about the game like if there are pwp’s, where shops will be, and will there be shops/special buildings in town, I’ll know what I want then.
The dividing river is for me one of the best news about New Horizons, as I can now split my town into three areas and decorate each of them different. That helps me a lot with a town theme I have in mind for a while. Otherwise, (don't know if this counts under land feature but I guess) I hope they finally give you the freedom to plant cedar trees everywhere. I hated the fact that they could only grow in the north half of your town in New Leaf, as it was the only reason why I couldn't follow a certain town theme and I was really disappointed about this. So I hope they gonna change this in the upcoming title.
I guess more of a variety of flowers? Like new colors of existing ones and then new ones altogether. New trees would be great too, I don't know a lot about trees to suggest any new ones, but just a handful of different options rather than the three we have now. Uh... as for other things, I hope the land is mostly flat, for decorating purposes. Hopefully they don't try out anything like rolling hills or something that would make placing things awkward.
I would love to have that dividing river in my town (or something similar). And tiers!!! I want tiers again so bad. I'd love if we could plant cedar trees anywhere (like Loupinotte said). Birch trees would also be a cool addition I think.
I would LOVE a multi level waterfall.
Assuming there will be layers in the island like in city folk, I think it would be really cool for there to be an area where there's a large waterfall that flows into a small lake and then another waterfall leading to the ocean. it would be pretty!
Id also love there to be a small cave. Maybe for mr resetti!
i really want back multi-story towns like we had in animal forrest and city folk, it made the town feel a lot more bigger then compared to the wild world and new leaf towns. It might just be because im so used to my new leaf town, but it feels so tiny in comparison to the towns in other games and even in comparison to others towns in new leaf.
No more grass wear, because you have a path tool or something
No more indestructible rocks
Tiered towns.
And I agree with John Wick, I don't like how the rivers split your town, it can get in the way, or at least have a way to terraform it late-game.
