What made you play animal crossing (series in general)
I found Wild World when my uncle bought a bunch of ds games for us. Never understood how to play, gave up in like many years. Found pocket camp and loved it. I saw a friend playing ACNL, so i was like why not get it. I loved it (though it's a bit boring now). Went back to my old WW town a few days ago, wondering if i should restart the town?

We had it on the Game Cube growing up. I've bought every iteration since then (except for wild world, because I never had the regular DS). I'm competitive, but also really bad at games, so a game where I literally couldn't lose appealed to me. I also like the collecting and building aspects of the game. I can set my own goals and do whatever I want. And the animals are adorably silly. It reminded me a lot of the Harvest Moon series I grew up playing, because everything is at a slow pace and you can basically do what you want. I love those types of games. They are so relaxing for me!

I think it was because of the commercials for Wild World. I really liked it, and have gotten all the games since. I still haven't played Population Growing, though.

My brother got me to start playing the original game on the GameCube. I didn't own it or a GameCube, but I visited weekly to hang out and play games with him. All he had to say was there were talking animals and I was ready to go. So I started up a town on his 2nd memory card and played whenever I visited him.

After a while, I stopped going over there so often and he sold the game and system. I understood but I never wanted to start up another town because it wouldn't be the same. That feeling lasted until my husband started watching a Let's Play of New Leaf. Then, I learned that with Amiibo cards, I could get any villager I wanted. The nostalgia hit me hard and I've been hooked on New Leaf ever since.

My mom bought GameCube version at a yard sale.
I have been playing the games in the series ever since. :)

I rented Population Growing from Blockbuster (remember those things?) when it first came out... I remember being amazed by the game running in real-time. I loved the aspect of owning your own house and furnishing it however you wanted. I find the villagers so cute and fun to talk to and build relationships with. I enjoy walking through the village and enjoying the nature. It?s overall an incredibly charming and easy-going game with a lot of layers and things to discover!

Wild World was a great time too and really added a brand new social aspect to the series. I put so much time into Wild World and made a lot of online friends to play with...being able to host and visit other towns together was a total game changer.

I did not put nearly as much time into City Folk sadly...

New Leaf I originally wasn?t interested in because I didn?t own a 3DS. I eventually caved and got one with the game and fell in love with this iteration.

I?m super stoked for the next generation of Animal Crossing!

I work in a video game store... I saw a used copy of New Leaf on the shelf and decided to give it a shot. I fell in love instantly. I have over 500 hours in NL at the moment... and I own City Folk, Wild World, and Happy Home Designer now. I'm looking for a good copy of Population Growing with the case at the moment.

I got a Nintendo DS back then and looked for new games when Wild World caught my attention. The game looked pretty nice, besides I never played Animal Crossing before (I played the Game Cube version much later), so I thought I give the game a try. I felt in love with it and yeah, that's how I became a fan of the AC series. Besides amiibo Festival and Pocket Camp, I played every AC game so far and spent tons of hours into them.

I remember it coming out and was immediately obsessed, but I did not have a gamecube in my home. Many of my friends had it and I thought it was the coolest game I had ever seen and they let me play it with them sometimes. I would play the little mini games on the AC website, and had some AC bookmarks that I prized. When WW came out I got it for Christmas and put god knows how many hours into it. All of my friends had it, and it was an amazing experience. Got NL when I was already in college, I played it a lot for a littke bit them put it down for a few years until recently.

I admit when I first saw footage and the concept of Animal Crossing for the Gamecube, I thought it looked boring and wasn't sure how anyone could play it. My neighbor even rented it and we found it kind of boring at first, but I couldn't stick around long and had to go home. A couple days later he bought the game, as did a few of the other kids in the neighborhood. I wondered why everyone was becoming so enthralled with it so I started actually reading about the game and continued hearing everyone talk about it. The trailers and commercials suddenly seemed far more enticing, so I finally picked up the game myself a week later and became enamored with it. I played it every day for at least year.

Just the style

I just like the style of the game. I thought it reminded me of that old sims game on the Ds, and I played Wikd World before, though i don't remember much of it. This is where i met my best friend too, But yeah it just looked interesting and i wanted to try it. :p:p

I went to bestbuy and came across the 3ds games section. I came across Animal crossing but didn't think much of it at first. I later researched it and realized it was something that peaked my interests. I asked my father to put 20 dollars on my 3ds (thankfully he did), and I purchased the game! I've been hooked ever since :) (accept for some breaks heh)

my fiance really wanted me to try pocket camp, so i did. after i started playing pc, becoming addicted in the process, he told me that main animal crossing games were way different, so i finally started playing new leaf. so now, i've been playing nl for a little over a year, and i love every moment of it. i've heard of animal crossing before any of this, but i was always like "what are they crossing..?" lol

I can't remember honestly. But, the original Gamecube game intrigued me. I never got to play it though. As soon as Wild World came around, I was hooked.

I moved in with my cousin and aunt when I was younger and they had animal crossing on GameCube. They showed me how to play animal crossing and I quickly got really really obsessed with it. I used to come home after school and play for hours. When I got older and they made wild world, city folk, and new leaf, I got a ds just to play those games. I also got my new 3ds recently and animal Crossing was the first game i bought for it. I really do it because it?s a nostalgic thing for me since it was such a big part of my childhood. I get in phases of playing it, but when I get into it I will play for hours every day.

I wondered why a kid's game seemed so popular with adults. I kept seeing it pop up as favourite title on streetpass (at least 60 % of all my streetpasses). From seeing the thumbnail and also the game cover art in stores, it looked like a very simple children's game. I didn't know what it was all about so I watched a Let's Play of it. I found out it was a life sim that actually coincided with time in real life, and that stores had open and closing times. It was a super unique concept to me, and I actually love simulation games with decorating and customization. So I bought a digital copy and fell in love. This is why I always say that before you judge a game, look into it first. It's popular for a reason. So I'm thankful to streetpass for putting it on my radar and introducing me to one of my top 3 games ever. Without streetpass, I would have never thought to look into this amazing game!

I tried out Wild World at my friends house years ago, before New Leaf had came out. I didn't really get it as I didn't get to play much of it, but it seemed cool and I always wanted DS and try DS games. Never really gave it much more thought than that, until fast forward a few years where I was talking to people at our local gaming store and the guy there highly recommended it. My friend was also talking about getting a 3DS and New Leaf as well, so that eventually convinced me to buy a 3Ds and I got a copy of New Leaf that Christmas that I brought the 3DS :)

I got a gamecube from my parents when I was 8 years old. I always looked at the big Toys R'us books and what did I see.. I saw a gamecube game with.. animals! I did not understand any English back then but I knew that I wanted it. So I got it when it came out and I was a very happy child. Only then I did not know what to do with Nooks quest to write on the big board outside and I broke down and cried. I learned English while playing Animal Crossing and Pokemon so I understanded more and more about the game. I also met my favorite villager Kiki for the first time, she was in my first town called Jasmijn (my name) because I could not understand the question so I was a male character named Jasmijn, living in the town of Jasmijn. But I was happy. Kiki gave me a shovel and I was happy. She was such a friend running around in the brown leaves outside her house.

THEN I fell in a pitfall and I did not know how to get out. I resetted the game in panic, and Resetti showed up. He told me to repeat his words but I did not understand what I needed to do. He kept appearing and I could not play anymore. So I deleted the town and started over.

Animal Crossing had a special part in my heart sinds Gamecube and I played that game and Wild World for many, many hours. When New Leaf came around.. I played it for 800+ hours. I'm just praying the Switch game will not disappoint.

When I was a child, we had a Gamecube. My older brother and I played mainly Mario and Sonic, then after my mother started dating someone else after her divorce, he had a copy of Animal Crossing and some other games.

My brother and I tried it together and we really liked the game. I played it a lot and it was a title I never knew about until I played it.

Animal Crossing helped me through a lot during that time, so it has a major part for me.

Well, for my 5th birthday my dad got me a GameCube, animal crossing, and harvest moon: a wonderful life! AC actually taught me how to read. I would play in the living room and have my grandma read to me what the villagers were saying. Then I just kept getting each new one! I love them all so much!
