So basically on Friday of next week I'm gonna go visit family and I'm so excited I can't contain it! So every day until this coming Friday I'm gonna watch a different 80s movie! The only thing is, I don't know what order to watch them in. That's where you guys come in!

I'll post a poll and you can pick 1-3 of your favorite 80s movies off of this list! I'm gonna watch them in order from lowest voted to highest voted! Here are the movies that I have picked out, in all their 80s VHS glory:
- Back to the Future (Part 1)
- Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
- Batman (1989)
- Footloose
- Dirty Dancing
- Ghostbusters
(actually the last one is one that I happen to not own on VHS, I'll have to watch it on demand I guess!)

If you'd like you can also talk about the movies you picked, why you picked them, what your favorite 80s movies are (in general), etc. I'm a big fan of 80s movies so I'd love to see what yall think of them!
I'm going to keep this poll open all day tomorrow, but by tomorrow evening (11pm EST) I'm gonna see what the standing results are and go from there!

Ghost Busters is a little out of season, but it is definitely one of my favorites on the list. I'd say Back to the Future is my top pick though. I love that series! Doc and Marty are such a great duo.

personally I can watch it any time of year, it's a classic :p

Also BTTF is my favorite movie so I def agree w you there!

Out of that list, definitely Back to the Future. It was fantastic!

I remember Footloose was fun but I forget a lot about it. Dirty Dancing was nice too but not really too much my kind of thing so I only found it okay. My Mom adores that movie lol.

I haven't seen that Batman, Ghostbusters or Bill and Ted so I can't comment on those lol.

That sounds like a lot of fun, especially to watch them on VHS too! Hope you have a great time 😁
My votes are Back to the Future, Bill & Ted, and Batman 🦇 (Now I want to rewatch them soon haha 😆)

I picked the first two because I love how adventurous/fun they are and how they're always nice to rewatch! (And Batman because superhero movies are always a good time)

Going to go with Batman, Back to the Future, and Ghostbusters as those are my favorites on the list. Whichever ones you end up watching, I hope you have a great time! :)

I’ve never seen any of those movies so I’m going to suggest you watch Gremlins or The Neverending Story instead.

Gremlins is A+

Also I've only ever seen Footloose from your picks so start with that I suppose :p

I love both of those movies! Great choices!

From the list, I selected Back to the Future, Batman, and Dirty Dancing. Dirty Dancing is nostalgic for me because it was my favorite movie for a while as a girl growing up in the 80's. I still have the VHS somewhere. Back to the Future is also iconic and one of my favorites. Christopher Lloyd is amazing. As for Batman, Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors so I had to go with that one, although I actually preferred Batman Returns based on the villains. Danny DeVito will always be my favorite Penguin.

Ghostbusters is also great, but I watched the animated series more than the movies. Bill & Ted's is fun but not really my type of movie. And I've never actually seen Footloose so I can't comment on that one.

I have a soft spot for Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure because a lot of it was filmed in my home town.I live about a mile and a half away from the mall they filmed all the "San Dimas Mall" scenes(It's real name was Metrocenter.Unfortunately it closed just a couple of weeks ago). They used a lot of the actual shops that were in the mall at the time.I also voted for Ghostbusters and Back To The Future. Here are some other 80's movies that I recommend:

Real Genius(1985)
Excalibur(1981)
Aliens(1986)
Labyrinth(1986)
Fast Times At Ridgemont High(1982)
Blue Velvet(1986)
Say Anything(1989)
Do The Right Thing(1989)
The Princess Bride(1987)
Top Secret!(1984)
Big(1988)
This is Spinal Tap(1984)
Flash Gordon(1980)
The Right Stuff(1983)
The Beastmaster(1982)
The Natural(1984)
Pee Wee's Big Adventure(1985)
The Dark Crystal(1982)
Explorers(1985)
My Bodyguard(1980)

oh that's cool that the movie was filmed so close to where you live! it really is a great movie, one of my favorites :)

also tysm for all the movie recommendations! I'm trying to build up my 80s VHS collection and at the moment I don't have a whole lot. I might go back to the thrift store sometime this week and see what movies they have (they're not too difficult to find cause no one wants VHS tapes anymore lol). I already have a hefty list of 80s classics that I wanna find but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for the ones you listed as well!

You really need to add The Goonies and The Breakfast Club to the list.

With the choices given, I voted Dirty Dancing, Ghostbusters, and Batman.

I would have added more but this is only going on for about 6 days. I unfortunately don't have room to watch any more (unless maybe I did 2 a day or smth). Also, I'm watching these on VHS tapes, and I (somehow) haven't gotten either of those movies on VHS yet. TBC is one of my favorite 80s movies, idk maybe I'll go on ebay and find a VHS of it :p

If you don't watch Back to the Future first, all the WAH eggs will be scrambled and then who you gonna call? Ghostbusters

Then, you're gonna have Batman get Footloose and do some Dirty Dancing, but Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure awaits near the finish line.

:lemon:

Batman, Bill & Ted, and Ghostbusters. Here are some movies I remember watching:

Adventures in Babysitting
E.T.
Gremlins
The Goonies
Willow
Stand By Me
The Terminator
Beetlejuice
Amadeus
A Christmas Story
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Karate Kid
The Breakfast Club
Caddyshack
The Shining

so these are the final results:

I honestly don't know how I don't have Ghostbusters on VHS. actually, after looking at my collection I've realized how few 80s movies I actually own. looks like it's about time to make another trip to the thrift store to find some VHS tapes!

so this will be a good way to spend my time while I'm waiting to go on my trip this coming Friday. I'm really excited to go and if I'm just gonna be counting down the days I might as well find something fun to do with that time. Thanks to everyone who voted, I always have a tough time figuring out which order I should watch a series of moves in lol :p

I actually do have a few of these movies, including Indiana Jones 1 & 3 and Stand By Me. I've seen Amadeus before, and you'd think cause I'm a music major I would enjoy it but tbh I kinda didn't lol.
