Well, while I am in the middle of resetting, I might as well ask this. You see, I am starting over because I ruined my town with TONS of TT just to get someone to leave. But should I just get things set back up by just taking villagers I think will be 'passable' on the Mystery Islands, Invite whoever I see first, or just wait for my Normal, Peppy, and Lazy dreamies?

THe reason I am asking is because I really want to get things caught back up, but I amlso want my villagers to be ones I like. In my previous town I just took whoever, but was unsatisfied with them. So I really would like some advice on what I should do.

It's completely up to you.

Personally I would just get the islanders that come asap and then work on getting back to where I was before I reset, but if you're going to dislike the villagers enough to TT so much that you reset the game, maybe spend some time trying to get your dreamies instead.

I ended up like MONTHS in advance and the villager would never consider leaving. I don't like to travel backwards for the record.
Why don't you like going backwards? :O

I could be wrong but doesn't going backwards any amount of time count as only advancing one day?

Yeah, but it counts as repeating a day. I don't mind it if it's a reset from scratch, but to do that on a sngle save....just....I don't know. It is just odd to me. I know it only counts as one day, but I just don't like having those extra days on there unless I wait for it to catch up. When I do travel forward, I usually only go forward a day or two. I was just upset at the game for not having Bob even consider leaving.

Well, moveouts are random, and so are NM islands, so I understand the frustration. But I've accepted I can't force things to happen in this game, it's just not how it was designed, so I'm just going with the flow and I recommend you try the same so you don't keep resetting over and over :)

@Rex of Elysium Oh I see. Since I assume you already reset. I would just go with the first passable villagers I find. Unless you got A TON of tickets to spend for a specific lazy, normal and peppy. Or go for the first popular ones that you can auction, sell or trade.

Get your dreamy, it so worth it! But remember dreamy isn't all about look, it about personality and voice as well. The whole package that why even cute villagers are not always consider dreamy.

Just basing it off personal experience, get villagers off the island who you like. It doesn’t necessarily have to be your dreamie. Just someone you’d like to get to know. If it’s your dreamie, then even better. AC is fun when it’s mixed with randomness. You don’t have to love every villager but I’ve had all my dreamies in NL early on and that’s what ruined the game for me. I got bored because I didn’t let anyone go and it was the same villagers all the time. I wished I had a chance to get to know other villagers before settling down with my dreamies. There’s over 400 of them after all. In this game I’m leaving 2-3 slots for villagers who can come and go for the sake of variety and keeping things exciting.

Tip number two, beware of tier lists. There will be villagers who are well loved by many that you’ll end up not liking. But you’ll never know unless you try. Having someone you don’t particularly like in your island can be a pain but if it’s there already, learn to roll with it until they leave. Sometimes because of this, hilarity ensues and it keeps the game amusing. It’s more fun when there’s someone there you feel differently about sometimes.

Tip three, resetting is a black hole. I’m not telling you to play a certain way. It’s your game, you can play it however you want. However, just basing on my experience with playing previous games, resetting can be addicting. If you start it, you’d find it easier and easier to want to reset over the smallest things and you’ll find it harder to keep an island to stick with.

Overall, this game is PURE RNG. If you try to take it too seriously and want to take control of everything and get everything you want immediately, you’ll end up either exhausting the game or feeling sick of it. The best way to enjoy is to really let it take its course. Come along for the ride. You’ll amass lots of funny stories to tell.

Remember too that you're going to be stuck with some randomness no matter how much you reset. The first campsite villager you are forced to take. It's completely up to RNG. Even if you reset to get dreamies for your starting two, and manage to find dreamies with NMT for your other plots, that campsite villager is extremely random and there's no way around that.

I have nocked off the part about dreamies to start with. I am just trying to get the fruit and map.
