The Lighthouse does NOT attract rare fish... the windmill does NOT increase town rating / attract rare bugs / increase hybrids... these are RUMORS which have been dispelled. Check HERE if you don't believe me.

I picked the lighthouse, but I'm not the only player on my wii and not all the votes are in yet...

Of course... if you change your mind later it only costs 1mil more to change from the lighthouse to the windmill or from the windmill to the lighthouse.

from what i've read and experienced, yeah. as the above posts mention it's just a rumor that they have any 'magical power' over fish, bugs, or your town. i've never come across definitive proof that they do anything but look nice.
