I decided to just lie down and maybe take a nap.
I lied down and closed my eyes and decided to open them so I could check my phone... I couldn't. I was stuck between sleep and being awake.. I literally could only open my eyes half way trying to snap out of this "nightmare" thing. I managed to and was like "okay what is happening" and tried to sleep again.. same thing happened it has been around 10 times now and from fear I done it so much my head is just dizzy... Once I even heard a car rushing up to my door, I couldn't move my body and this is just crazy.
Anyone experienced this?
Sorry if I sound terrified but I am...

I believe this is called sleep paralysis. :/ It looks terrifying, I've never experienced it. I hope you'll be able to get better.

I looked it up to but it's been happening every time I close my eyes :c I am so confused... I read it only happens like once or twice per week.

This is called sleep paralysis, and it isn't anything very serious although it might be frightening. Here's a coolio website about it that helped when I had it

The issue is... I didn't even sleep.
I lie down... close my eyes for like a minute and its done. I am not even falling asleep because I am still thinking...
I am not doubting it's sleep paralysis I think it is too but I am not sure if sleep paralysis can happen like 9 times in 10 mins since I heard your brain has to start dreaming.

If it happens a lot I would say get a doctor to check it out just in case?

Sleep paralysis can happen when you're falling asleep, when you're waking up or when you're in a very relaxed state. It can be triggered by stress and lack of sleep. When it happens, you need to make an effort to relax (freaking out tends to make it last longer) and focus on moving your fingers and toes first, because that's usually where movement returns first. During sleep paralysis, you can hallucinate or "dream" while you're technically conscious, meaning you can see and hear things, that aren't really there, and unfortunately, these experiences aren't usually pleasant.

There's no real limit to when or how often it can happen. It can happen once a year, or it can happen every night. Try just getting a good night's sleep and reducing the amount of stress in your life. These episodes happen mostly when people sleep on their back or sides, so you can also try changing the position you sleep in and see if that helps.

I can't really reduce the amount of stress in my life lol no way to scream out "stop stressing me out life"
I slept 8 hours weirdly since I usually sleep around 5 hours... Every time I sleep 5 hours this never happens but when I sleep longer like 8 it seems to happen which I don't understand.
I also can't sleep in any other positions I can only fall asleep on my side since childhood so I guess I just have to live with it.
I did tell my boyfriend and he said he will shake me when he notices it happen, don't think that would be harmful.
I am not sure if it is noticeable through I always feel like I have my eyes half open but I have no idea if that is a illusion or reality.
He does wake up earlier than me so I am sure if there are signs he will notice.
Would be funny to have a gravestone saying
"Death by sleep paralysis".
I might go to the doctors if this continues a lot.

It sounds like you're just very self aware if that makes sense, like the others said, some form of sleep paralysis, you should see a doctor, best of luck to you

That's definitely sleep paralysis.

Think back to how you were falling asleep. Was it any different than how you usually fall asleep?
For example, if I sleep on my back, I'm significantly more likely to experience sleep paralysis - maybe you're similar?

Have you been overly exhausted recently? If you have, it's no wonder your body is falling asleep with little effort. Physical exhaustion mixed with anxiety can make it so that your body feels tired without your mind realizing it.

If you find there's not much you can do to avoid it, you can try to use it to experience lucid dreaming.

Sleep paralysis. Believe it or not, I'm VERY jealous of you right now. I've been trying to Astral Project for a month and sleep paralysis is essential to do this.

Nah it wasn't any different. It was the same as I usually sleep.

I suffer from anxiety as a long term thing but at the time I wasn't tired because I didn't sleep, infact I slept 8 hours and tbh I feel better sleeping 5 hours lol. So I felt sleepy because of how long I actually slept.

Well if I get any dreams it is mostly nightmares and I am not sure I want to lucid dream about someone stabbing me :x

Yeah I should but I live in UK where doctors aren't the best.

I can already give you the answer. The Astral Project doesn't work, you are tied to your body. I did not go anywhere, everything is tied to your body, sorry. I still felt in my own body and I wasn't in any way out of it at all.

I wish I could travel... I was actually trying to escape but my body was the one keeping me in one place because the muscles couldn't move and there was no way of escaping... just the sound of a car driving up to me unsure if someone will come through the door and kill me. You feel fear for your own life and there is nothing nice about it.

That is exacltly why you couldn't project- fear. And because you were trying to move your physical body. It takes relaxation and focus to allow it to happen. It would definitely be unlikely for it to happen if you weren't trying. I've had sleep paralysis without trying, so yeah, I understand the feeling of not knowing what is going on and being scared. And I've also been part way out of my body before as well. I didn't get any further at that time because I got too excited and happy. All depends on your frame of mind.

It depends on your religious beliefs I read it up and it is a part of religion and I don't feel exists. In my previous reply I didn't know it's actually a part of religion.
In my opinion I believe you were just lucid dreaming.
I read on how to get into the astral thing and it said try moving your arm... I do that every time trying to grab my phone to message my boyfriend when I know he isn't around at the time.
Sorry but I don't believe it exists.
