I'm quite happy with my bathroom, living room, Bedroom, Kitchen, and Foyer, but I don't know what to do with my basement. For a while I made it into a spa, but I already have and outdoor spa, and it just seemed like copying everyone else who'd used the wooden deck mat + cloudy floor combo just cos it was neat. What have you guys done with the basement?

Well most of my house is 'fancy' so I made my basement my lounge. A bar, pool table, piano and fancy stuff like rugs and stuff that looks costly.

My main character's basement is a pottery studio because I needed to use up some crafting materials to make space in my storage. My alternate's basement is a laundry and workout room since I wanted to have a workout space between my S/O and me; the laundry room just made sense to me to fill the other half of the basement. XD

My basement is my kitchen, lol. If my kitchen was elsewhere, I'd probably turn it into a ritzy bar if possible.

Some of my friends did a neon game room (pinball machines), a pet room (lots of moms plushies) and an underwater jazz band.

For I second there I read that as Underwater Jazz Hands :ROFLMAO:

I had fun with my basement. I filled it with real art, placed a desk with the big desk chair and two smaller ones on the other side. Then I put an open aluminum briefcase on the desk filled with cash stacks. It's meant to look like a shady arts deal/mafia room lol.

I had nothing in my basement until I made an entry for the starry snaps contest; I combined the kitchen and aquarium room on the thousand sunny from One Piece (used some different color furniture that I thought would look better with the wallpaper; also wasn’t expecting it to turn into one piece related otherwise I’d have tried to get the right colors for the counters and other furniture). I might be keeping this for the time being since I’m enjoying the vibe (k.k ska playing) and it has been growing on me even though I’d like it to look more unique. I added a raccoon by the table to represent chopper (since he gets called by strangers as raccoon dog; was thinking of using an illuminated reindeer, but he never is in that form on the ship). I also added an antique phone behind a snail on a small wooden table behind the skeleton (Brook) to represent a transponder snail.

Art Room sounds like a good idea! Perhaps not a shady dealers though XD I'll leave that to Redd.

Mine has been a beachy-witch retreat. I have the water horizon and starry-sand beach floor. Used a couple of sandcastles, a kettle tub for a cauldron, palm tree lamps, and the mermaid and shell rugs to anchor my fortune telling layout.

With fall coming, I want to change things up in my house, as well as on the island, so I think I'll put all that in storage. I'm going to construct a Hufflepuff Common Room down there, since they were in the basement.

You could do a study/library that would be pretty cozy. I had that in NL and it was one of my favorite rooms. I've also seen some amazing takes on game rooms, sports bars, and movie theaters.

Library was one of my first ideas, but I already made an outdoor secret library in the hills XD I always end up putting the best inhouse ideas outside. The basement used to be a games room, but I just didn't like it in the end. All good ideas though!

I have seen someone turn a room into a studio with paint splatters custom designs. And I've seen someone take that to turn it into a counter feit studio lol.

Once some of the mush items are available (or if you already have them), using the forest or stone wall and maybe the swamp or misty garden floor could make a fun grotto. You could place the termite mound, have some garden rocks, and make it something of a secret retreat, rather than a functioning room.

That is a brilliant idea - because that basically describes my Bedroom! 🤣 😎 Well, except my room is all cherry blossom woods, flowers and blossom piles, with wooden furniture. Indoor woodland is awesomeness!

for most people, their basement is a room to get creative with! there's many different ideas I've seen like a Celeste/zodiac room, basement cafe, library etc. though I've definitely seen a lot of mafia/shady business themed basements 💀
