What will happen when I delete my data?

I'm asking for my friend, quite literally. As in, when I delete my island, how will that reflect on his? I'm on his best friends list, I've sent him letters, etc.

It won’t do anything to his island if you’re deleting yours. I’d imagine the letters will still be there because they are safely on his island. Don’t worry about hurting his island. You deleting your island won’t do anything negative to his island.
