What's inside your house?

All of my houses (I have 4) are regular houses for my characters. I don't like the idea of turning my houses into shops or hotels or anything. I like to use furniture that seems kinda out of place, but still fits. Like I have a moon surrounded my 4 lotus lamps, pink chaise lounges, and birdbaths in my mayor's main room.

I'm still working on my other 3 houses, but I plan for each of houses and all the rooms to be unique and interesting looking, but still house-like xD

Your houses sound awesome. The sets are nice, but some of them look better as accent pieces in other sets. Like I think the Pave set is a bit overwhelming if you use all the pieces, but if you mix it with the Classic set it looks awesome.

I love it when people do unique stuff with their houses like you describe. WAY more interesting than a million HHSC houses full of Nintendo items IMO.

In my mayor's house I have:

Mermaid/birthday furniture in the front room
Gorgeous furniture in the back room
Princess furniture in the basement
Rococo furniture upstairs
Gracie furniture on right room

In my main room it's sorta eh still a work in progress

To my left is a quaint Rococco room, it was supposed to be a writers room

And my right is a traditional Japanese style or at least it's supposed to look like it

Going north of my main room is what I call the elegant room with a gorgeous series in place

Upstairs has the Pav? series with a holographic tv

Basement well… there isn't much to say.

in pearlsey, i have a load of ice furniture, along with a few other random pieces of furniture like the snowman bed and a customised blue closet thing. i have some random wallpaper and flooring i can't remember the names of as well.

in lumatown, i have... anything and everything in my house lol. it's a complete mess, but i've never come round to sorting it all out. and i don't think i will anytime soon, thanks to my second town.

I love reading these, too! The ideas sound really cool and interesting, I'd love to see how they are executed. Now I feel like visiting a bunch of dream towns and decorating my own houses too!

I have only decorated my mayor's house thus far. The common thread for her rooms became antique. Her main room is a kind of a living room. There's a research/writing corner and a small corner for listening to music and reading. Then there's a tiny kitchen corner with no actual kitchen supplies except for a kettle, coffee cup and bureom.. I have lots of furniture in this room, as much as I could fit in. The color scheme is reddish brown (or violet brown) and dark green. I have customized pieces from the green and classic series. There are also also several bookshelves and a fireplace, moody painting, vintage telescope, typewriter, cool globe and other furniture that fits the antique theme. Lots of items that can be placed on others.

The upstairs is a bedroom and hobby room combined. It's a bit lighter than the main room. Has customized classic and green furniture once again and several plants. There are instruments and toys (like the boxed figurine and miniature car) on display. Some other things I have in this room are a painter's set, fancy frame, Aquarius urn and loom. The wall is arched window and it has old-board flooring.

The downstairs is a stuffy basement where my mayor has stored some dusty furniture. Personally I really like this room. It might be my favorite out of the three. I have the rococo and cardboard furniture there, as well as a Virgo harp and cash register. I used a dirt-clod wall for this room and the flooring is common flooring. I love the combination of the rococo and cardboard furniture and the ugly wall and flooring...

I'm really happy with my mayor's house for now. Right now I'm working on expanding my second character's house and decorating it. I don't have a set idea or theme for her house, mainly because there are so many things I'd like to try out. I'll have to come up with a coherent plan. All I know is that her house will have lots of plants. Her name is plant themed too. I have a lot of furniture I want to use (like the princess, fish, flower and bug sets) so her house will be bigger than my mayor's. Maybe I'll end up making a third character too, for decorating purposes!

I feel like I'm always collecting stuff, and since my dresser\storage is full I have crap in all of my rooms that I don't "have time" to put away yet lol! sooo.. In every room it can be gracie stuff, fortune cake items, bushes, trees, perfect fruit, bells.. xD ugh - basically a bigass mess in every damn room of my house.. some day I'll finally stop "hoarding" and organize... but not today!
