What's on your grocery list?

And how do you make that list? Written on paper? A list on your phone? For me, I went back to the old days and put up a dry erase board on my refrigerator. I like it because I can also doodle with my markers haha

Here is my list currently:

My parents usually do the grocery shopping, but sometimes I'll buy stuff we need or random food I want. Because of that I usually buy a load of junk food. 😭 I also write my list on paper since I have a notepad I use at work, and I work in a grocery store so I can do my shopping as soon as my shift is done.

It'll usually look something like this:

I like your list much better than mine 😆

My bf usually does the shopping. He just remembers what we need, doesn't write it down. It's usually some combo including some or all of the following:

Spring water
Bagged ice
Eggs
Sliced bread
Shredded cheese
Frozen pizza
Steak
Chicken
Ketchup
Ground beef
Butter
Cat food
Cat treats
Cat litter
Frozen tacos
Chicken nuggets
Microwave rice
Canned black beans
Frozen burgers
Chicken kielbasa
Hot dogs
Reese's
Some sort of pastries
Potato chips

He learned how to make pancakes last Saturday so now I'm hooked and I'm sure the box mix for those and syrup will be added to the rotation 😂

Right now the only thing on my grocery list is puppy food. Just went recently so don’t need anything. My list is on my phone on an app for the grocery store I work for. It just easier since all my coupons are on there too.

My grocery list isn’t on paper. I usually only get a few items so it’s easy to keep a mental list in my mind. Normally, I only make a plan for sodas and juice, and I’ll pick up whatever food items look interesting at the store.

Lol when I used to grocery shop, I was also a stream of consciousness shopper. I don't drink soda or juice, but my staple was water and like you, whatever looked good.

We use a digital list that is shared between our phones. Since my spouses job causes him to travel, most of the time he wants to pick up stuff on his way home if he is driving by stores we use anyway. Sometimes I go instead, but he usually tags along because: snacks, which are unlisted on our list. Staple foods go on our list and we add it to the list when low or out.
Examples are peanut butter, bread or tortillas, raw frozen chicken breast, eggs, cheese, rice, other stuff. Veggies or fruit are not staples as much as I would like them to be, because it just depends on if it is available at the store, if it is affordable because of seasons, or if it is even in good shape cuz flies. But I try to have at least one of each category on the list every time. Lately fresh apples and frozen green beans have been it. Recently we got fresh onions and fresh bell peppers though a little overpriced. Commonly we get frozen broccoli. It's one of the reasons why I want to grow veggies at home, but it isn't the only reason. I can't do much for fruit until I can get going with veggies well enough and find space for some sort of fruit.
We just went to the store last weekend so, we don't really have anything on the list right now.

That's a cute dry-erase board! And I appreciate the coloured markers! I also appreciate that you wrote "oranges" in orange. 🍊

I have a dry-erase board, but it's not for grocery lists (it's for doodling writing down important reminders). I am time poor, so I try to order my groceries online, generally making my grocery list on my laptop before I order.

My staples are generally salad vegetables, baby carrots, turnips, fruit, bread, and milk. My most recent grocery list:
Salad leaves
Tomatoes
Cherry tomatoes
Cucumber
Carrot
Turnips
Red onion
Baby capsicums
Bananas
Apples
Lemon
Garlic
Bread
Milk
Yoghurt
White fish

I use an app on my phone.

Most commonly bought items are:

Onions
Garlic
Bell peppers
Mushrooms
Carrots
Courgettes
Spinach
Baking potatoes
Sweet potatoes
Tomatoes
Tomato paste
Tinned tomatoes
Black beans
Cannelini beans
Pasta (various)
Basmati rice
Taco shells
Tortilla wraps
Salmon
Chicken breast
Mince beef
Rump steak
Jalapeños
Sour cream
Salsa
Soy sauce
Pesto
Cheddar
Halloumi
Paneer
Butter
Milk
Eggs
Bread flour
Tetley tea bags
Lucozade Sport

On Instacart I just go through my previous purchases and see what needs stocking up on. Other than that, I just look around and add to the cart.

My list is the closest piece of paper I can find. So it's nothing glamorous. I like your little Hulk drawing! You won't like me when I'm hangry!

I may need to rethink my grocery list. Or learn how to cook. Some of the items on your lists make me feel like I am watching a chef cooking competition (you sprinkle some what on the what now???) For example, what are...

Courgettes

Since I don't know what that is, the word makes me think it's one of two things. A fancy food item, or a sandwhich with a Corgi on a baguette. I'm thinking it's closer to my first guess 😆

Oh, we call some vegetables by different names in the UK! E.g. we use aubergine instead of eggplant. Courgette = zucchini!

Just did a shopping list:

Soup
Quiche
chicken goujons
Sweetcorn
Poppadoms
Curry sauce
Chips
Bread
Milk
Yogurts
Bananas
Cheese
Mackerel
Toilet rolls
Tissues

My list is normally not that large either, but it's because on my way home from work there's a grocery store like 5 minutes away if that. So it's easy to just stop in after I leave work. There's a lot of different stuff I put down especially if I come across a unique recipe I want to try. I found a bunch of different soup recipes that used really different ingredients than I'm used to and took some time to prepare, but they froze well and were worth the effort and time. It was great to just pull a small container of it out on a given day and know I had a really good meal waiting for me when I got home.

It's not super healthy, but have you ever tried them breaded? They're pretty nice once in a while. Like once or twice a year. I grow them every year and I put a few aside to do that. Also shred a few to make bread and it's nice and not overly sweet if you still want something sweet.
