Although I'm rather still new to the forums, from what I have gathered this past month is that they're just collectibles just like any of the other collectibles. Some people are rather serious when collecting them or so it seems, and others like buying them not only for themselves -- but people also buy themselves extras because they like to give them away to friends or fellow users, use them for giveaways, or make a profit out of them. Also, from what others have said, apparently they're rare after halloween? So that's another reason.
In the end, It's honestly really what personal value you put on them and how much they mean to you so that you would actually feel the need take the opportunity and want to collect them yourself or not.

Uhm, I guess they go rare. The site lagged a whole lot yesterday from the restock, I think. People are just trying to get their hands on one.

Do you mean "What are the values of the candies after Halloween?" or "Why are the values of the candies higher after Halloween?"? Your question doesn't really make sense as is.

I am just trying to collect them because Halloween is my favorite holiday. Though they are almost impossible to get from restocks.

They give you superpowers, duh.
rn, reds go for 200TBT+ and greens for 800TBT+ and blues usually for 2kTBT+
people really just like candy
also i guess yellows may go for 100TBT+ in a few weeks or smth

The candy's sugar ball shape is a classic, and quite a crowd-pleasing design in itself.
The 4 colors that they comes in (not counting the dark candy) makes them very versatile to mix and match with almost any other collectibles, like reg. cake, chocolate cake, ice cream swirl & popsicle, if you want to go with a dessert theme;
or, just going for the color schemes. It'll even work with some fruits.
And I think the candy collectibles are rather pleasant to look at, as they are mostly there for decorative purposes,
just seeing them in a row makes me smile. n__n
Also, they make a totally obtainable/affordable, neat little souvenir to remind one of the events that took place during Halloween in the forum - this is especially true, for myself, as this is my first Candy Fest here.
As for resale value, the Green & Blue ones still fetch quite handsome prices,
so the race to grab all during restocks are well, to be expected. ^^;;
