Honestly, the first thing that comes to mind, just for versatility and how much I use it, is the humble Stall. You want an outdoor cafe? Gift shop? Hot cocoa stand? A physical stalk market? You got it! I just wish we had a cash register item to go with it.
Also, because I mostly do outdoor decorating, I'm a big fan of the log benches, especially the natural one. I have SO many placed by stumps on my island, lol. I just love how they look. And the log furniture set in general is great. When I had a cozy cabin themed room, the brown version was great. Same for Toy Day decorating. But I also use the white version for a bright and airy sunroom- it's amazing how it can make a room feel cozy and warm or open and breezy with just a quick color change! Not a lot of furniture has that versatility.
I'm also a nostalgic, sentimental person, so I love pretty much any and all toys and the mom furniture. If I had to pick one single favorite piece of furniture, I'd say the Mom's Plushie, because I LOVE stuffed animals in general and it's so precious.
Oh my gosh okay, this is going to be really tricky. There are a lot of one-off furniture pieces that I really enjoy!
1.) Garlands. All the garlands. I absolutely love them whether it's the spooky garlands, starry garlands, or bunny day ones! The starry garlands are probably my favourite because they glow but I love the others as well because they let me give my regularly decorated rooms a bit of festive pizzazz when it's holiday time! I will be forever waiting for a toy day garland.
2.) The nova lights and the crescent moon chairs! I'm pairing these together because they're both made with star fragments and they both glow, lol. I think these items are so pretty and I love that you can customize them into different colours as well.
3.) Leaf piles and cherry blossom piles! I'm not really sure if these count as furniture items but hopefully they do. I absolutely adore them. I have cherry blossom piles all over my island right now and I'll do the same thing come fall with the leaf piles. I love running through them and seeing my villagers walk through them, too!
4.) The little tiny mushroom stools. Specifically when they're customized to be red and white. I think they are the most precious little things and I love them to bits. I'll shoutout the mush lamps here, too. I love the glow that they give off when it's dark out!
5.) The log furniture! Specifically the log furniture that have cushions with them. So that day bed thing, the chair, and then the longer sofa. I think they're so cute and I desperately want one of my villagers to give me that longer log sofa DIY lol.
6.) The toy day furniture was all really cute but I'm partial to the kids tents! I still have a few of them out on display on my island in various villagers yards. I think they're so cute and cozy looking.
hoo boy. new horizons definitely has a lot of great furniture but imo, the best items / my personal favourites are the crescent-moon chair, mush lamp, garden wagon, puppy plushies, big festive tree, bears (baby, mama, papa and giant), bunny day tree + planter box, kiki and lala bed and the illuminated set!
My favorite item is the paper lantern. I love how it can be customized, and I have all sorts of variations strewn throughout my island including my island's flag, villager lanterns, and rotating seasonal lights.
To me the best item in NH is the functional Mario Pipe. It's a game-changer and I hope to see more items with actual, useful functions like it in the future!
