What's the easiest way to get Tanned in ACNL?

I've heard that tanning in ACNL is extremely difficult and most players I've seen don't even bother with it. My question is how do I tan without time traveling or waiting 6 literal hours to tan? Is there a mod, hack, or some easier way that we just don't know?

(Also why haven't the animal crossing team fixed this?)

The player can get a darker tan in the summer by standing in the sun for long enough (approximately 15 minutes in New Leaf). If a player has the darkest tan (Level 5), it will stay Level 5 and will not get any darker. But if they take a break and don't go into the sun, their tan will change into Level 4 and so on. A tan will disappear a little bit every day if the player hasn't been walking around in the sun each day. Also, a tan will begin to disappear on rainy or cloudy days.

I suggest going to the island and just standing there on a sunny day. The annoying part is that you have to revisit the island and do this over when it fades. It really sucks that players can’t choose their skin tone at the beginning in new leaf. Fortunately, they’ve addressed this in new horizons!

I think it only works in the summer month. I play a lot in the fall and I never get tanned, so I think it’s a summer thing. If you are playing through the fall and winter you would need to go to the island unfortunately.

Tan appears from July 15 to September 15 so sadly it passed. :[

The Island is luckily all year.

Also make sure there aren't any clouds, and to run around.
