As someone who's played all the animal crossing games, I found New Leaf to be my favorite so far. I'm curious on what everyone else's favorites are! It doesn't matter if you've played all the games or not, even if you've only played one, that technically counts as a favorite.

I apologize if this has been done before, I'm just genuinely curious.

I've also played them all -- I love New Leaf and GCN and they're both my favorites, but GCN was juuuust that little much better in my opinion. It's easier to dip back into GCN than NL I think. Maybe that just means that not much goes on in the GCN version lol.

I actually also really love Wild World but something about the DS soundfont rubs me the wrong way so it's a safe third choice. (y)

I used to hate City Folk but these days I think I was too harsh on it in the past. And as of yet I think it's too early for me to tell how New Horizons will rank against the others, but for now I see it being better than Wild World but not quite at the same level as GCN or NL. 🤷‍♀️

As of now, I have only played the GameCube version and New Leaf. Between those two, the GameCube is easily my favorite because of the villager/NPC dialog and interaction. I've really been missing that while playing New Leaf, so that's why I haven't bought New Horizons yet. I've kind of been waiting and watching how New Horizons pans out to see if I want to buy it or go back to GameCube once I finish my second New Leaf town. I know the customization has come so much further in the newer games, but the villager interaction is really the main reason I play.

New Leaf by far.

Just the right mix of new features but all the characters and content. New Horizons has added stuff I really don't care for (DIY and material gathering) and removed too many characters.

New Horizons is already becoming my favorite Animal Crossing. I love how much customization is possible and it makes the PWP system in New Leaf seem so limited in comparison. I'm sure I will be playing it for years to come.

I've played all of them at least for a little bit except for city folk. Based on how NH has been so far, I would still say I prefer new leaf but that might just be because of nostalgia and how many memories I have playing the game online.

I agree with that, but I feel like there was more order and less chaos? in New Leaf
I can't explain things very well lmao

I think I understand the sentiment? Since in New Horizons you can place items pretty much wherever without much consequence. Therefore planning can be nonexistent. Meanwhile with the comparatively slow PWP system, you only have 30 slots and they're built so slowly you have time to really think about them.

GameCube for sure. There just was a lot of things about New Leaf that really made it offputting for me. Tortimer Island was pretty cool though; surprised they didn't keep mini games going.

Currently still New Leaf. New Horizons is enjoyable, but I cannot help but feel it needs polishing in aspects, where with New Leaf I had not had that feeling at all really. Since the game is still producing content, my opinion will likely be more in favor of it over time.

New Horizons, but New Leaf is very close behind.
I prefer New Leaf's music and pace, but New Horizons has so many quality of life changes.

Although now i'm playing NH and starting to leave my NL town, i gotta say NL still wins my heart a bit more. NH while it's really enjoyable to play i still have few minor complaints about it. The only complain about NL is the inability to relocate houses but that doesn't seem to make a really huge impact to me. Also NL is the reason i get into Animal Crossing community

i’ve only ever played wild world, new leaf and new horizons so it’s a tie between new leaf and new horizons - i love nl for a lot of its features such as the dream suite but i also love new horizons for its gorgeous quality and all the new things it introduced, too

I like New Horizons the best, with Wild World coming in second, mostly because of nostalgia and villager personalities. I still play WW just to talk to them. They make me laugh every time! I liked New Leaf a lot at first, but I got very bored with it after about a year. Mostly because the villagers had much less personality and I didn’t have anyone to play with online to take advantage of Tortimer's island mini games. I never played the original Gamecube version, but I think from what I’ve heard of it that it would be a favorite of mine too!

I’d really have to say Wild World, it was my first and fills me with such a comforting feeling even today. I’ve been playing it more recently, and while new horizons and new leaf are good, they don’t offer the same feeling the older ACs have.

New Leaf because I have so may memories with it, even though New Horizons is a close second (I still play the latter everyday, however).

I don’t know, I like both New Leaf and New Horizons. Even though I play New Horizons more than New leaf now, I don’t think I can call New Horizons my favorite because I’ve made so many memories with NL.

For me the best will always be AC:GCN. I've also played all the Animal Crossing games, and across all of them the one on the Gamecube is the one I always find myself going back to. I've pretty much abandoned my Wild World and City Folk (and possibly New Leaf now) towns but I still play my 12-year-old Gamecube town quite frequently.

At the moment, I'd go with New Leaf because I had so much fun with it. There were a lot of things to do in the game and I enjoyed interacting a lot with the villagers too. New Horizons comes close, I love the HD graphics, terraforming, being able to choose where you place houses, but I have a couple of gripes with it as well. I guess we'll see how it holds up after the updates start rolling in.

The original on gamecube. A lot simpler than the newer versions, but it's where it all started... that game was perfect! :)
