Which fighting game is your favorite all-time?

And since we're all big fans of Nintendo here, and how great the games are, if you pick a Super Smash Bros. game, then I also ask: what is your favorite fighting game of all time that does not have "Super Smash Bros" in the title?

I like fighting games for the characters. So I just play through the solo modes of Street Fighter casually. Street Fighter 6 gave me everything I wanted out of a fighting game.

I'm unusually good at smash Brothers though and I can play it on a competitive level. I do have an issue with Ultimate because I feel like much of the roster is outright unfun to play against.

The series is leaning towards comeback mechanics and characters with a passive moveset being the best ones. (I don't even know what they were thinking when designing Min-Min).

I hope they dial back and put a little more thought back into the solo modes again. It's improving but not quite there yet.

I like the Mortal Kombat series mostly for the finishers.

Street Fighter 5 was my big intro to the genre and tbh I miss it! The fighting game community around it was amazing, EVO tournaments were sick, I like the cartoony and colorful art style, the V system was pretty simple, etc. I think 5 is better than 6 in its current state.

guilty gear strive, no contest. fun mechanics, really cool story, and some either queer or queer-coded characters make me love this game a ton!! ^_^

blazblue has my heart frfr. i don't play any of the games as much anymore (or fighting ones in general), but i spent a good chunk of my time playing them on my ps3.
