Victoria of Starry Isle
Hello~
I'm curious to know the communities' thoughts on this topic. Please be respectful when stating your opinions in the comments.
Oh dear..... I remember when there was like hacked trees when someone had an island with trees with fragments and other stuff on them. However when it was posted in a dream address some people reported it to Nintendo and then they took it down. If anyone was caught having hacked trees on their island they would risk getting their account banned.
As far as I think about it I could see there be fun from it, but when it comes to like cheating the system just to get stuff earn stuff rather than doing it the intended way I would say its unfair.
Yeah they take hacking pretty seriously whenever someone reports it to them.i totally forgot that nintendo can ban your account for stuff like that! also from what i heard of, the trees didn't brick your game or anything like that, but to nintendo ... hacked items are hacked items, no matter if they're pretty or not.
if i remember well, the hacked trees wouldn't even drop the star fragments, so it didn't count as cheating. in my opinion, there were no necessity of banning islands that would have star trees. nintendo......i totally forgot that nintendo can ban your account for stuff like that! also from what i heard of, the trees didn't brick your game or anything like that, but to nintendo ... hacked items are hacked items, no matter if they're pretty or not.
They do ban people if they were caught doing glitches like duplicates to spawn more items just to sell them and make more bells thats something that they don't take too kindly too.As long as it doesn't affect my game, I don't care what others do with their games.
But if they purposely do it to spread gamebreaking glitches (for example), then that is just mean spirited and awful. I like to think that most people won't do that.
I feel like Nintendo is trying to cut down on hacking in this game though. I haven't heard of many people hacking New Horizons unless it is to get unlimited access to trading currencies or crafting recipes. The last big things were star fragment trees and Harvey's fence that was patched out, right?
I think I had my encounter with a hacker one time when I was using Nookazon. I was finished doing a trade and they gave a wrapped gift in return. I opened it up on my island to find out that its a Sea Creature called the Spider Crab. I was like "Wait you cannot wrap up creatures in this game" then I donated the item to blathers and he accepted it. Whats weird is that I didn't catch it so the game thinks I never had it before because it wasn't registered in the critterpediaPeople are free to play the game how they please. However, Nintendo is also free to handle those players how they please. Also, just make sure if you're one of the modders, please don't do things that would effect other players negatively.

There was a YouTuber who recently got banned for the same reason. I forgot what his name was but he was the one showcasing the hacked island and for some reason when he went to that island he got his account banned which was strange because he wasn't the one hacking. Nintendo is pretty strict with their policies but sometimes it can be too aggressive.Yeah, I remember that.
It was only because this youtuber would mass report people with star trees and encourage fans to do the same. Even if the person they were reporting didn't do anything wrong like hack someone else. Nintendo saw the mass reports and saw that a lot of people didn't like the mods/hacks so they toughened their policies on mods/hacks.
