Me personally, I find this forum, Reddit, and Discord in general to be more friendly as a community than other platforms.
I run into problems on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube mainly...
Facebook, I always see people shaming others putting villagers up for sale for normal (at least normal for Discord) prices, or getting mad at others for not giving away stuff for free... Also the TT debate on Facebook gets out of hand very quickly!
I haven't been on Twitter too much, but my friends have experienced the same thing.
YouTube, I find that a lot of YouTubers push false theories and myths to try and get views, and it just ends up confusing everyone!
Also bad is I do see a lot of very high entry fees for turnips and such. Especially on TurnipExchange, although I won't go down that road because of the recent allegations having to do with them and Nintendo's Terms of Use...
I like to stick to this forum, Discord, and Reddit
Y'all are so nice and helpful, and I just love that, so I try and do my best to be helpful back on the forums as well!
As far as my views on the TT debate?
I TT myself a bit to speed things up, like villager move outs (they are so rare and slow in this game!). I personally believe in the "let people play how they want" philosophy. Plenty of my friends TT, plenty of my friends don't TT. It's whatever floats your boat. I've always TTed in previous games to speed things up, go to a different season for a change of scenery, refresh the shops, move people out, etc. I get that some people do use TTing very exploit-ly i.e. getting infinite bank interest, etc. But that's just something that comes with the ability to TT. I appreciate that it is still possible to TT, and I'll use it when it suits my needs.
