Yeah, they hardly ever restock. Sometimes, during Bell Tree Directs, they restock the whole store. And (I think) when the staff don't announce it, they restock a certain item.

what are bell tree directs?
Bell Tree Directs are updates to the website that are usually posted a few times each year and also usually coincide with Nintendo Directs. Most of the time, with each direct, they release a new collectible or restock the ones in the shop. It's one of the few times you can get some for reasonable amounts of TBT.
But like Ness said, the mods are evil and they rarely happen.

Unless you are here all the time. And then, even if you are here, sometimes you get nothing. People are so fast during restocks and some just hog and hog a lot.

they definitely do a shop re-stock every St. David's Day, so you can go ahead and circle March 1st on your calendar and be ready...
