I feel like Christmas time get's a bad rap for arriving too early. "Hello it's not even Halloween and there are Christmas decorations up? What about Thanksgiving?!" However I have been finding many products, media, and other things related to Halloween since before August -- which gives much more time to Halloween festivities, than the one month of Christmas many people believe is fit.

Since Thanksgiving is just a US holiday, I think it's socially exeptable to pop up the Christmas Tree in November. What are your thoughts?

december 1st, 12:00am. same as october 1st, 12:00am. i do not know why i think like this but i do.

I agree with moonbyu. I don’t start thinking about holidays until it’s the month they are in.

My birthday is November 17, so a couple days after it passes I usually start thinking about Christmas. Then the Christmas feelings intensify once December 1 hits.

I usually think...okay December 1st. There, same month. The Costco I go to, puts Christmas trees for the whole year. They literally put on lights starting at September and either forgot to take them off at spring.

for me it starts at december 1st. i still get advent calendars as a way to count down the days and i guess that counts as celebrating. i don't mind seeing christmas stuff in early november because some people like early prep and that's fine, i just find it odd when another big tradition like halloween gets completely overshadowed by ugly xmas sweaters in stores. no one really takes part in halloween anymore in the area that i live in though.

After my birthday (nov 17th) before thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a stupid holiday anyways

Yoooooooo birthday twinsies!!!

i have two requirements: it has to be after thanksgiving, and in order for me to really feel like its christmas there has to be snow on the ground.

I guess I sort of associate the day after Thanksgiving each year as a bit of a shift toward Christmastime. I might not start decorating the tree or listening to Christmas music for a few days or weeks after that, but I start getting in the mood for figuring out what sort of gifts I might get for people. Depends on the year though, since the date that Thanksgiving takes place on shifts around. But like this year when it's on the 28th, yeah.

The day after Thanksgiving. I always go black Friday shopping for xmas gifts so that's when it starts for me. :)

For our family Christmas starts the day after Thanksgiving. When I was a child my parents both had off that day so we spent the day putting up the Christmas decortations. We continued that tradition when I had my son. Even after we got married we kept that tradition because my husband is born on Christmas day and loves to see Christmas decorations for as long as he can.

As soon as December hits, I guess.
I don’t start decorating or REALLY preparing for Christmas until the double digits though.

I'm in the same point of view as well, Christmas time begins as soon as Black Friday begins. :) In my house, we don't listen to any Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. lol

when my father sets up his millions of xmas decoration all over the house
Yoooooooo birthday twinsies!!!
okay... i see how it is :( lol jk why is everyone born in Nov 17-19 tho

Hmm I'm not sure myself. My mom says the Christmas tree should be up after Thanksgiving.

It is very true you'll find halloween/thanksgiving/christmas items in store early, but I love that. My local dollar stores are always like this but I enjoy it even if they're up very early. Its great to buy Christmas decorations early in my local dollar shops since they do sell. When where already in the season yoy won't find much anymore. Basically all the good stuff is gone.

I'm fine when it's halfway through November, because it's at least closer to the actual date. I'm sick and tired of hearing x-mas music on my birthday every year without fail: Nov. 1st. I hate that the second it's midnight, radio stations all immediately switch to jingle bells. Can't I just enjoy this one day without holiday havoc taking over? Please? That's the only christmas miracle I'm asking for.

Sometime around the beginning of December. Although I'm not really a fan of Christmas to be honest.
