luckily for me, i charge my console a lot, and i tend to play docked mode when my battery is low, so i seldom woah big word deal with a dying console.

however!!!

just a few minutes ago i was whipping up some perfectly rational midnight snacks (pancakes, pumpkin bagels, curry, all the good stuff) to hand out to my villagers who were still awake. and just as i had finished putting all my unused ingredients back into my storage and leaving my house, my switch died. now it's sitting on my bed charging, but ugh. rosie really deserved those pancakes i made and now she's probably not going to get them until tomorrow morning because i'll probably fall asleep before my switch turns back on.

that's enough from me though - what are y'all's experiences with dying consoles and acnh?

I actually haven’t had my Switch die on me before. There were a few times when I had to turn it off because of low power at inconvenient times, though. I’ve had this happen while I was terraforming. I was “in the zone” and to have to take a break from it really sucked. Luckily, I finished the area I had plans for after charging it. As a Switch Lite user, I played the crap out of it portably. I always pay attention to the battery life as things I own tend to die at inconvenient times, lmao. I always have a charger handy for that reason.

I was makinhg a custom design, and hadn't noticed ow battery becaudeI was concentrating

So I ended up having to re do it. It defently didn't look as good as before

thankfully i don't think my switch has ever died while playing - since there are two low battery warnings, if i haven't paid attention to the first one the second one usually kicks me into gear. plus it helps that i only ever really play on my bed, and my charger is right next to it

My switch has never died or been lo battery! I think its because I am a freak about those things. I ALWAYS keep it on the dock after playing handheld and do not play for too long as the switch is made out of the trashiest plastic in existence I mean it gets very hot in less than 10 minutes so I only play around an hour at a time then let it rest for 2. MY WII U/3DS/GAMECUBE/WII NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM MR NINTENDO. Im sorry im ranting 😅

oh my gosh, I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!! i swear, especially with new horizons, if i'm not actively playing the game for more than like, 5 minutes, my fan goes CRAZY and my switch is scorching hot. i hate when this happens especially if i'm afk or waiting for someone to use the dodo code to get to my island. it drives me insane :')

I KNOW 😭😭😭

Having no money when you just bought something and the seller agrees to sell it to but you got no money.

my switch has never died on me, I keep it on the dock most of the time. but the power low warnings make me make sure I save and put the dang switch on charge. I can't remember what I was doing meanwhile such an occurrence, but I imagine maybe designing a house on hop or decorating. nothing too bad.

ok so i lost my charger and i was playing acnl and it was on low battery i was putting down paths and than it died :-:

My switch hasn't died by battery yet, but NH crashed when i was talking to Roald which was the closest, and i had to reinstall the game because the data got corrupted, my save is still in place though.

That really scares me, why did the data get corrupted? All it did was crash...

I've never had it happen to me mainly because I play ACNH in TV mode. And when I do play in handheld mode, it's always had enough battery life to play for a few hours straight. It won't be long until I return my Switch to the dock for it to charge up again...

But man, I do hope no one faces the fate of having their save file corrupted just because their Switch died due to having no battery life left while autosaving. It's even scarier when you don't have a Nintendo Switch online subscription to back up your save. My subscription ended a few days ago, so I hope I never have to deal with this or anything else that would jeopardize my save.

So just don't let it die when it's trying to autosave? I don't wanna lost my progress, no one does, how can I prevent it from corrupting my save data?(Really sorry I wasn't trying to get off topic)

Yeah, you shouldn't leave your Switch at a low battery life to begin with especially when the game is periodically autosaving. I'm careful every time before I put the Switch in sleep mode. There have been a couple of times where I was about to power it off, but then I see the autosave icon on the top right. Always make sure the game finishes saving before you put the Switch in sleep mode. It always pays to wait a few seconds!
