When ... ?

When you start up a new town, I know that villagers will randomly move in...
Just to be more aware, when will these villagers move in? Or is it random?

For example, the first new villager will move in the day after you start your town ?

After 1 moves in, I think 2 days after a plot will appear. Not 100% sure on this though.
